Kay I'm panicked a bit. I'm 5 days post op and I don't seem to have a full button at all. I moved from liquids to mush today- yogurt, pudding etc. the problem is I don't have get full. It says work up from a tsp to Tbl yet today I sat down to eat some pudding and I had to make myself stop eating when it was almost half gone rather than my body telling me to quit. Is there a problem? Did the dr maybe not cut it small enough? Should I be concerned?

Your tummy will be numb for a while and soft mushy foods and liquids pretty much just pass thru..its very important you measure and only get drink what they told you for the first couple months...once you start eating solid Proteins believe me you will feel it

I didn't feel much of anything post op. I never would know I was full unless I could feel the pressure in between my breasts. After a couple very uncomfortable episodes I did as I was instructed and measured out. Also as you will progress in your dietary intake on to solids you may find it takes less amounts of denser Proteins and food to make u full compared to the thinner or less dense food. Good luck!!

It takes time for the nerves to works again. Weigh or measure everything as your Dr ordered and you will be fine and not overeat! After awhile you will start to feel the fullness. Best wishes!

What they said :) it was about 6 or 7 weeks before I started feeling anything similar to 'full'. Your best bet is to eat what you are supposed to and stop so you don't damage anything. Likely this will resolve over the next couple months. Best of luck!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
