February/March 2014 sleevers

I'm so excited to be this close to surgery. I don't have a date yet. I go back to the surgeon on Jan. 8, 2014. I expect we will set a date then (hopefully). January 29 ends the 3 month "diet" period. So I think I'm looking at surgery in February. :)

Oh, I can definitely fart. Lol. But without gobbling stool softener a I can't poop. I haven't lost any more weight since like, the first 3 days though. I think I need to up my fluids.

Glad to hear I am not the only one with poop problems! My surgery date is March 17th and I am so backed up. I haven't lost a single pound this month. I still have to lose 14 pounds before surgery. I may have to take a fist full of laxatives to clean myself out. Maybe then I'll hit goal weight.

It took 3 softeners and FINALLY! But the next day I was constipated again. So 3 more. I think I'm gonna have to make it a daily thing. Odd thing is, since my gallbladder was removed in 08 I've ALWAYS had diarrhea. Bile acid diarrhea and regular diarrhea. And usually I'd be running for a restroom within minutes of eating. Now I'm the exact opposite.

I drink a lot of fluids and still don't poop. I know a week from today I'm going to regret wishing I could poop my brains out.... Hahahaha.

Do you have to do a bowel prep? I can't remember what you'd said?

Oh yeah!

I read on other posts where posters said they were taking Miralax every day to avoid constipation. I asked my dr about this on Friday and she said don't do that because you can become dependent on them. Better to eat high fiber foods or drink prune juice. I finally had to take a laxative but like you I am backed up again. I am taking phentermine and she said to stop taking it but if I stop taking it I won't

Make goal for sure.

In all honesty, I'd rather become dependent on them for the rest of my life than go through the pain I went through trying to poop. I'm talking blood. When you're like that it changes your views.

Just remember that phentermine does affect your heart and you're just about to have major surgery. Be careful

Oh yeah!

I don't have that. But in the hospital they give me something, I think a suppository, to "get things moving" (how they put it) before I'm able to be discharged. My luck it'll hit me on the 3 hr drive home.

I have only been on the phentermine for two months and it is the lowest dose. So I am not worried. But I am with you. It's no fun when you can't poop.

If your doc wants you to stop taking it, why wouldn't you listen to them?

(Not trying to be rude here, just wondering.)

My GP told me to stop taking them because I was constipated. But if I stop taking them I won't make my goal weight and will have to postpone the surgery. I would rather treat the constipation and have the appetite suppression. Screwed up logic I know but I don't think I want to wait

Another month for the surgery.

Sher- take extra vitamin c and sleep. That's WHAT my doc recommended when I thought I was getting sick Friday.

Thanks SJ I will get some tomorrow. I'm too tired to get dressed and go get some now. I have cold medicine I'm taking but i'll get some Vit C tomorrow a.m.
