Day 5- 215.4 6.6 lbs lost since surgery!

So that brings my total loss to 33.6 lbs. I had lost 27lbs pre-op. It took me nine months to get that off but it's the most I was ever able to lose "on my own".

Noticed I got a lil hungry today but I hadn't eaten since this morning so I'm guessing that's to be expected. It wasn't the kind of hunger I normally would have either. U know the bugs bunny in the desert kind where everyone looks like a scrumptious roast beef! Hahaha just a little hunger signal. Easy to deal with. I wonder though if it's acid? I've read on here how acid mimics hunger so maybe I should try taking my Pepcid impersonator tomorrow and see if that happens again....

Still eating full liquids so I've got some bear creek Soup cooking. That's a dry Soup in a bag that's dehydrated. Very very good stuff. Cheddar potato and broccoli and cheese are the best!! I'll just put it through the strainer so no lumps. Till tomorrow....

Amanda, my husband is a 35-year diabetic and was sleeved 12/2. Doctor gave him permission to have his fruit at bedtime until surgery to keep his blood sugar from dropping to 40 during the night. He has had NO fruit since surgery, no carbs, and his blood sugar is about 110 every day, and not 40 or 400. Thank you Lord. This is the best thing ever. His blood pressure is finally stable also, so my life gets better and better.

I was put on Metformin about 4 months prior to sleeving, and came off Metformin 11/1 when I was sleeved. No more for me!

Scary vut it all worked out perfectly. Best of luck!

Day 6- 215

Today was pretty difficult getting my Fluid and Protein in. Only got about 350 calories in too. I ran around most of the day and did the grocery shopping by myself. Wore myself completely out and was in bed by six and slept all night! Yeesh guess I over did it. So I'm gonna really try to get what I need today with my protein and Water.

Hi Shel, I'm so glad I found your journal! I had the lapband in Jan 2008 and did great for the first 3 months and then blew it after I moved. Once I discovered I could eat and drink anything (including beer) it was all over. I get my revision from band to sleeve in 2 days. Just started my clear liquid preop diet this morning. I too, love the unjury powder. Used that alot with the lapband surgery and am using it again. It's been so great following your daily journal pre and post op. I'm scared but ready. You are truly an inspiration.

Cheers!

Deb

aww you are sweet! These two days will fly by!! Just try to stay busy. Get your bag all packed and ready to go. I took house shoes for walking the halls afterwards. Your own night gown or comfy close so your butt isn't hanging out whilst walking. hair brush, tooth brush, wash cloth in case u need to wash your face and the nurse isn't around much, Chapstick, a tummy pillow that u can hold against u when u cough cause it realllllly helps! Keep positive thoughts only! Don't let any negative thoughts in, the do no good. Take care and let us know when u are back!

Day 7 (one week post op!!) 214lbs I've lost 8 lbs!!!! Today makes one solid week down! So happy! Pain is all gone. food or rather all the liquids are going right through me. A lot. I hear others say they are having the opposite thing happen though. I was able to start eating food that has a thicker consistency today so that was awesome. This morning I had a Protein Shake using Unjury chocolate splendor, 2 tbs of Peanut Butter powder for extra Protein and milk. Used two percent but I will switch to skim soon as I run out. Great shake loved it and I used two scoops of Protein Powder so I could get this darn protein in. Soooo what did I choose for my first mini meal. Refried beans! Been reading about em all week and I wanted some soo bad. So I had half a cup mixed 1/4 c Red enchilada sauce and 2 tbs shredded cheese. Basically I had a pintos and cheese from Taco Bell lol or at least it tasted exactly the same and it was pure heaven. Only 160 calories and 8 g of protein. So I think I will be having this often. This is also the first day that I've been able to take a regular drink of my power aid zero and not a tiny tiny sip. It went down easily so that's how I knew it would be ok it move on to the refried Beans without difficulty. My paper work said I could on day 7 but if I was still having trouble with Water I would not have tried it yet. Today has been a great day. Ive lost 8 pounds my first week. I am now 214 lbs which is a number I haven't seen in years. I'm full on 1/2 c. I'm able to drink easily so I won't get dehydrated. And best of all I was able to get 72 g of protein in and still stayed under 800 calories. Yeah!!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
