does everyone get two incisions? I don't know why I thought we got 3 incisions,

I will be banded tomorrow. Then I will know for sure

I was given 5 incisions...I have no idea if one has to do with my hernia repair or not....thought 5nwas standard...

I have 5 incisions, thot that was standard for everyone...

Hi, everyone. I had my band on 1/21 and besides discomfort of gas pain and a small amount of hunger I am doing well. I am very pleased so far and on the third of Feb. I will be allowed more than liquid. I am so looking forward to that. So thankful for all the wonderful experiences and ideas shared. This is a comfortable and helpful gift to have on hand. I don't feel Alone.

Welcome to the group! Glad you are doing well!

I am sitting here now 6 days post-op enjoying a little bit of heaven...a scrambled egg. Aaaah, to be in the mushies stage is wonderful. I feel like I've made it through to the "lite' side now.

Sounds so good. Nothing but liquids for me for a few more days. Enjoy your delicious egg. I can only dream. Chicken broth for a while longer.

I was banded on Jan. 13th. Since that time I have graduated up to regular foods. I never realized how much junk and food I ate before banding until these last couple of weeks. It amazes me how many times a day I have to decline food that is offered to me or is just out and available for anyone to take. What amazes me more is how in the past I took advantage of most of those opportunities. We went to dinner tonight and I had a few different foods and then later to Tar get'. At the store one of the kids wanted a snack and got a pretzel, I got a drink. She offered tastes of the pretzel to me three times, all of which I declined and it was not a big deal. Then when we got home one of the other kids insisted I have a piece of chocolate even though I declined. I have to say I am sooooo proud of myself. In the past not only would I have had a snack with the kids, I would have had my own candy bar. Instead I have a drink and my yummy Icebreaker gums in grape, lemon, and strawberry smoothie. They are soooo good and just as satisfying as the junk food. When the flavor starts to dwindle away if my craving for a snack hasn't passed I pop a couple new pieces in. I get the satisfaction of the chewing and the great flavor. Whatever it Takes!!

Congrats to all the new banders! We are on a journey of self discovery!

BlueTurtle thank you so much for sharing your story. I was banded on the 21st and I am still on liquids. I am so encouraged by what you are doing. Please keep sharing for all of us that are desperate to do well. I love gum and can not wait to get mine. This is such an exciting journey we are on. So glad we are all together.

I was banded on the 21st and got the go ahead yesterday to mushies. I had a meatball for dinner and it was so good. Next week solid foods! WooHoo! Oh and since Jan. 8 when I started my pre-op diet to today lost 13.5# 4.5# away from onederland.

Well done everyone sounds like we're all almost done and ready to kick some butt. Am looking forward to the gym tonight. Can't believe this sat it was 4 weeks ago already! Am looking forward to the first fill and getting some tightness and restriction so more consistent weight loss happens

Hello e everyone. I was banded on January 17th. Doing great so far. I have a question. When do you normally get fill in it band? I don't have any in mine yet.

Hello all, I'm two days post operation and feel a little sore but getting better every day. The doctor did two surgeries on me; the band and then he pleaded my stomach or placated it. He said that it would help to keep me from feeling hungry. So far he was right, I'm able to eat broth and Italian Ice and those types of things but I do get full quickly. The gas pains suck for the most part, but I have been getting a little bit better on that front. Yesterday, after coming home from the hospital, I didn't rest as much as I should have. That wiped me out! Today I'm going to take it much easier.

Overall, I'm just happy to be on the side of the surgery date, and I'm looking forward to starting my new life.

Wow i hope nothing is wrong with me i c several of u going to work and active in the gym. I still have a significant amount of pain if i walk too much or do light housework? Wth :-(

Ablond, my NP said close to 6 weeks after surgery. Mine was the 9th of jan and my first fill will be feb 17
