Burning pulling pain left lower stomach..9 days post op

Recommended Posts

So here I sit 9 days post surgery , ever since day 2 I have had the burning pain that I was told comes from the lovinox shot given in the hospital. However I had that shot a few times 2 on the left 2 on the right . I have issues on the left side. the pulling the burning is nuts. I am also struggling with sitting down. I hate sitting . Im a mom of 4 kids. Being home just makes me want to clean .. LOL I will go and do what I can until the burning starts .. then I am down. I hate the pain meds ,I only take them when the burning makes me nutty. I'm sure the pulling is the inside stitching... Does any one know what I am talking about , what is it ? How can I make it better ? How long will this last .... I am miserable . I have to lay down flat to make it stop, standing works for a while... sitting hurts it also =( I

It will go away...you are healing..cleaning, bending and lifting will only prolong the pain...this is the time to allow yourself to heal..Be good to yourself...there is a lot of pulling going on in there as everything is connected even after surgery......don't get upset, consider this a time to look after you and learn patients eh..You still have a long journey ahead of you....you have time to look after yourself until you heal..

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You sound like someone that doesn't know how to do for yourself! Nows the time. I don't know how old your family is, but maybe you can sit them down and ask them to help mommy out. You really need to heal... and that takes time. It may drive you nuts, I know it did me, I was out of work for 6 weeks, because I wasn't cleared to lift anything over 10 pounds for 6 weeks! I was begging to go back to work at 4 weeks.... Seriously, you do not want to pull your stitches and have to go back to the hospital! Sit down and catch up on some TV or read that giant book you have been meaning to do for so long! Needlepoint for next christmas? Now is the time. Feet up, giant class of Water.... a Protein drink by your side, YOU CAN DO IT! The time will be over before you know it.

I just talked to my doctor about this same issue. She asked what I did yesterday (when it started) and I told her I just picked up my living room, cleaned up all the dog toys, organized my pantry, and unpacked from Christmas. It was less than two hours of activity!! She scolded me and said that 12 days out I should be resting, not cleaning and that I had pulled on my stitches. She said to take my pain meds and sit my ass down for then next couple days! I'm so bored, but at least the pain will keep me settled for a while. She said it could take up to a week to go away!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
