So lately I've just been thinking of the worst. I'm terrified of stretching out my new tummy. Like everything I put in my mouth I'm like oh gosh is this going to be it ? Then I have these sharp stomach pains then I really think its stretching. Dude I need an anxiety pill or something.

Follow your doctor's advice and you will be fine. Your stomach is enflamed from the surgery and feels very tight. Eventually the inflammation will subside, and you will not feel this pain. You will also be able to eat a bit more, so be careful! Take advantage of this time, and listen to your tummy. If it doesn't feel good, then stop eating. Chew, chew, chew your food until it is like Water. You have a long road ahead, good luck! Don't stress...it is perfectly normal!

You'll have a hard time causing any permanent stretching - according to what my doc told me. Just eat slowly and wait between bites, don't want to stretch your staple line. I was only eating a teaspoon full about every 10 minutes during the 2nd week. The first week post-op, I wasn't able to eat anything but popsicles.

You will vomit before you will do any damage. The valve at the top of your stomach is not strong enough to withstand that much pressure. But if you follow the guidelines and pay attention, you won't even have a chance of causing any issues.

I'm only 7 days and on full liquids out but for me that little twinge of pressure/ pain is my new sleeves way of saying "slow down, you've had enough." If I pay attention and stop for a few minutes it soon passes and I can resume sipping my meal or drink. Pretty sure the sleeve can't stretch with liquids, and is fairly resistant to stretching permanently.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
