I am pre-op and loving going to the Nut. I am learning so much about food and the in and outs that even now it is changing my life.

I am shocked at how uneducated I am about food and others around me too.

Maybe because of my love for learning and education I am so shocked on the misunderstandings about food we all have.

I can honestly say I wonder if I would be where I am today in my weight struggles if I would know what I know now!

I can say greatest shock is the difference between carbs and sugars and that some prepared packaged food are good for you

Education is a huge part of our continued success. A good program gives us ALL the tools we'll need for a successful, sustainable weight loss. I now have a better understanding of what and how much our bodies need for proper nutrition and energy. Also, due to the psychiatric evaluation I know what I've been doing wrong all these years and why I was doing it. It is a real eye opener! Understanding all this will help me to avoid the same pitfalls in the future. I feel confident that the changes I've made will be effective and permanent.

One more thing that will be a huge help to you is keeping a food journal, either manually or electronically. In the beginning following my surgery I was not logging my food and really had no idea if I was meeting my dietary requirements. I was estimating which I later found was very inaccurate. Since logging I now know exactly how much Protein and fluids I am getting and can add a shake if I am falling short for the day. Good luck! :-)

Because of weight watchers (I own part of the company, since I joined so many times LOL), my love for cooking, and because of my husband's diabetes, I have been reading food labels and studying for many years. This is a new journey for some. A new way of living, eating and cooking. But I am still learning. Best of luck!

I love my NUT. She is so helpful and knowledgable about her field!!

I learn so much about the make up of food and how the body uses it and what for!!

This knowledge helps me understand the new way if living and I wish I had this 20 years ago but not sure I would have listened!!

You know when stuff

Just falls in place and you have light bulb moments that is what is happening to me about my food choices!!! And eating habits!!

I really believe proper nutrition and cooking skills should be taught in school! Education is such a key to eating healthy and nourishing our bodies!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
