I think they all do. The worst for me was the GNC brands. You may get better results by adding the whey Protein to a fruit smoothie. Just don't add sugar. If you're like me, the sugar will make you nauseous.

No meds I don't really have time to make a smoothie and I don't really like the texture of smoothies for some strange reason!

My wife doesn't like some food textures too. But every once in a while she try a sip of the strawberry smoothie I make.

It's all a big experiment--eating after RNY.

It really does make you feel very isolated. My husband doesn't understand how I can eat something one day and the next day it makes me gag. Some days I eat fine and some days I eat nothing and have to force myself to drink. My staples are Quest bars and a smoothie I make with Greek yogurt, diet cran-grape juice, lemon juice, ice and stevia. It gives me 20 grams of Protein plus lots of fluids since I tend to dehydrate easily. I wish I could get in a good pattern of eating regular food but it's just not happening for me yet.

I too am not regular with my post RNY eating. But I'm getting better at knowing what I can tolerate most of the time. I've been adding steadily to those foods I can tolerate, and even like. It's mostly vegetarian foods. I'm still having to supplement my Protein intake with whey shakes and Protein Bars. I don't know if I'll ever get to where I need by eating regular foods.

Lilly that sounds interesting what flavor do you ultimately taste in that drink?

Gran grape I like just not sure about the lemon juice? Is stevia something we can have? I have heard of people using guava nectar I wonder if we can have it? I know I am not getting all of my Protein so I need to start eating my protein bars more!

Forgot a big part of my smoothie...duh..frozen strawberries...my nut ok'd the stevia...the lemon juice and stevia combined help give it a strawberry lemonade sort of taste. Sometimes I add a scoop of unflavored Protein Powder and the lemon juice masks most of that nasty taste...unflavored does not equal untasted! I use Cabot light plain greek yogurt and a cup has 20 grams of protein....adding Protein powder gives another 10-20. I just experimented until I found what tasted good to me. I also make it with no ice and freeze it in containers to eat like sorbet. I take one to work in the mornings and eat it as it thaws.

I am like you. One day I like something the next I don't really care to eat it. I feel like I waste more food. What's really weird is I can't eat left overs reheated it does not set well . I usually throw it back up!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
