Protein shakes make me nautious post-op

Recommended Posts

Had no issue with them pre-op, but now I can't stand them. I have no issue with milk or Water. This has been the first trouble food I've had. I've tried 2 different kinds and I'm waiting for my Syntrax Nectar to show up. I'm worried about getting 60g of Protein in daily now. I'm 4 days post-op, so my choices are very limited.

Milk hasn't bothered me, I can tolerate mixing carnation instant Breakfast in milk just fine. I'm thinking of only using half a scoop of Protein next time. It was the consistency and the smell. I can have Greek yogurt but no cottage cheese (which I would love to have).

I used vanilla Unjury Protein Powder in soymilk with about 2 tsp Folger's freeze-dried decaffeinated coffee crystals. The coffee covered the smell and taste for me. I also drank Zero Calorie Isopure ready-to-drink coconut drinks. 20 oz have 40 grams of Protein. I liked the coconut flavor, but some people like the fruit flavors.

I'll have to look into the Isopure, I've heard they are good. They don't taste weird, do they?

You can try different Proteins at a local GNC...that's how I finally decided in Unjury unflavored...I think they all taste weird. For me it's a matter if which one I can mask easiest.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
