I have been on a pre op diet for 2 weeks. I started my clears today on I an have g surgery on Wednesday the 22nd. I have been using g the Atkins shakes. Strawberry is my favorite. Not sure if you have tried them yet.

Joy it really isn't that bad. I had a headache the first couple if days from carb withdrawal, but the diet plan itself is a manageable. Good luck! It is soooooo worth it!

Thanks Lucky. I will do my very best. How are you doing? Can you eat mushy food yet? Do you know if you have lost any weight or are you going to wait until your checkup?

So went for my 2week post op appointment yesterday I have lost 23 lbs my doctors goal for me for the month was 23 lbs. The whole office was excited. I'm just thankful to lose anything and to be off all my diabetes meds. Finally on to the next stage.

Rmb2300 so happy for you 2 weeks and 23 lbs is outstanding!!!

Sleeved Tuesday, home Thursday up 5 pounds of fluids, but down 7 pounds this morning. I am staying on the recommended feeding schedule and getting all the protein and fluids. Very little hunger but odd craving for crunchy tuna salad. Had a scary adverse reaction to a medication in hospital, and developed a urinary tract infection with fever last night - but the medical team was very responsive and helpful. Feeling much better now and excited to see the scale slip near the 190's!

Flying out to OKC this afternoon! Pre-op appts all day tomorrow. Clear liquids only. Surgery on Tuesday about midday! Holy smokes the nerves have hit! It's finally happening!! Feels like I just started looking into this surgery yesterday (in August!!)

Loveelaura good luck to you, do you have a good support system traveling with you? Of course there's us but I'm referring to family/friends? I am having my lap band removed and having the sleeve 1/30. So I keep reminding myself that removal is going to be so comforting and the other is bonus. So just try to focus on your successes you will be encouraging us waiting to be sleeved. .:-)

My surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, January 21, 2014. I am getting anxious/nervous. I am worried about getting all of the protein in after the surgery because I have had a hard time drinking the protein shakes during this whole past week of liquids only. I want to try the protein shots, hoping they will be easier to get down. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried Pure Protein? The frosty chocolate is really good. Tastes like chocolate ice cream only in liquid form!

My surgery is in the morning at 7:15am in Roanoke VA with Dr Tananchai Lucktong. I am so nervous I am trembling!! I have never been in the hospital before except when I was born! I trust my surgical team and am sure I will be fine, but can't stop trembling!

As for the protein, I use whey isolate and skim lactose free milk. 2 shakes a day is around 80 grams of protein. You can get it at walmart for $22. The chocolate is great. And vanilla isn't bad either. I add sf jello to vanilla to make different flavors. My favs is orange to create dreamsicle flavor. It is easy to get your protein this way and you get no gas. Body builders use this. My nut said not to use the shots. They aren't as good a type of protein. Good luck on Tuesday!!
