Protein Shakes

Recommended Posts

M still pre op and Can't stand Protein Shakes. I've tried many, and I think they're all gross. What will happen after I have my surgery in January if I still can't stomach drinking them ?! Are there other options?

You need to talk to your nutritionist. Many want people to move on to Protein found in real food pretty quickly, but you have to be able to take in high levels of protein in small quantities of Fluid. Have to tried the Syntrax Nectar unflavored? It really is indistinguishable. I'm mixing it into cream Soups and broth, cottage cheese, Water with a Crystal Lite package, etc. It mixes thinly, and the flavor is unnoticeable.

I used Bariatric Advantage and powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury for Protein shakes. Mixed with skim milk and used flavorings like butterscotch and piña colada with the vanilla shakes. Mixed with ice in my Magic Bullet smoothie maker and they were like a milkshake.

Unjury also makes Protein Soups. And you can mix their unflavored or strawberry sorbet flavors with sugar-free Jello. Order the individual packs so you can try them out before getting the large tubs.

Also, add some broth WITH SALT. It counts as Water and the salt will give you energy.

Good luck on your journey. It's going to be amazing!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
