sue, i know exactly how you feel. during the 6 months it took for all the paperwork to get done, there were times when i just wanted to scream.

i wanted the surgery done and i wanted it NOW! there were so many stumbling blocks and delays. but in the end, it all worked out.

right now i am also playing phone tag with charlene too. as of yet, my insurance has not paid a dime. they send each bill back saying they need more information. so i am trying to get hold of her to find out if they have sent the info. I hate dealing with this stuff. I prefer being an ostrich and sticking my head in the sand. but i guess i have to get proactive and start doing something.

i dont understand why the insurance wants more info when they approved the surgery. but they will do anything to delay parting with the money.

i lost 2 more pounds. for a total of 43. yesterday i was afraid something may have gotten "stuck" but it seems like it went down today. sunday night i ate a bunch of soycrisps before going to bed. something felt funny. i know we cant eat bread and i was afraid that maybe the soycrisps turned into a ball in my stomach like bread would. i bought some papaya enzyme to see if it would dissolve it. maybe it worked.

does anyone know how to use those tickers people use to chart their weightloss? i have tried but cant figure out how to attach it to these posts.

I would think that after paying them $300 to handle the paper work they could do a better job. We shouldn't have to mess with the Insurance at all. Charlene acted like she didn't want to be bothered with me and my questions. I have paid for the class and scheduled my first one so I don't see why it can't be submitted to insurance...Well I guess there is nothing I can do now but wait on them to decide when to submit them.... and come on here and bitch to you guys. Thanks for listening! It really helps!

You're doing great with the weight loss, keep up the good work! At my Doctors appointment last week I had gained 2 Lbs. All I do is eat. :hungry: I don't know how they do the tickers either so maybe some one will tell us.

i hate admit it but i agree about charlene. she always sounds so overworked. i think they need to hire someone to help her.

i hope she doesnt read these boards. i dont want her messing up my insurance papers any more than they are already.

Ok Girls.....

I went to the ticker factory, created a ticker and then I just copy and pasted the ticker itself on my signature. I couldn't get it to work by copy and pasting the address..... I am just not all that computer savy. I guess it works and thats what counts.:clap2:

Hello all!! Now that I've got all of my excitment out of my system about finally having a Ticker:biggrin1:. Now I can write,

Thinner me: Have you started your says 6 months dietician visits yet? That six months will fly by and before you know it you will also be a Banded baby too! I started out at Bariatric Center in Groveport, but the Dr. wasn't a In Network with my Insurance so that is how I ended up at Mt. Carmel.

Debbie: I go for my first fill next Tuesday, do you know how much saline Dr. Choban put in? I want her to be aggressive with me so I can loss, loss, loss I want to be my idea weight by Feb. when I turn 40. Hows your working out going? I wish I could get motivated and start working out I have done it a whole 3 times since surgery, I know I need to get on the ball but I've been so busy, and LAZY, I will start this week-end......Have you found out any thing about your ins. paying your bills?

Sue: Charlene can't call the insurance company untill all the paper work is turned in, I paid my $300.00 dollars last, and it took a week before she contacted my insurance, but once they approved my I was in for Surgery in less then a week, So every thing will work out!

I love our little thread it's so Cozy:nervous!

I agree...we have a cozy little group :car: I just tried to get a ticker and it didn't follow me home so I have to try again .

I paid the $300 first and just paid the $200 for the nutrition classes about 2 weeks ago. Thats why I am bummed..I thought I just had to be registered for the class, not wait until I took it or I would have done it at the same time I made all the other appointments.:) I don't think they are very clear on that.:(

Oh well it gives us something else to pass on to help the next person.I'm just feeling cranky!

Good Morning Ladies!:ranger:

You are welcome for the ticker info. Trust me, is was a freak accident that I was able to figure that out. I am usually calling one of my kids to figure out anything technical:noidea:.

Lady, I have attended 2 dietician meetings so far. Katie (the dietician) has a set program for 3 month classes that meets every week, but she just stretched it out over the 6 month period. I am so thankful that she was able to get me into a group that was already in progress for August.

If not it would have pushed my date back another month .

I have to agree with you, our little group is very cozy, I love it here. :).

Sue I'm feeling your pain hon. There is so much involved in all this, unlike the mindless effort it took to put the weight on :hungry:. Feel free to complain anytime you want, I'm all ears....Lord knows you to may have to return the favor sooner than you think.

Deb, :waytogo: Woo Hoo to you. 43lbs is way cool!!!! I so can't wait to be on the band wagon. It seems I have been waiting forever.

You are such an inspiration :hail:.

I hope you all have a blessed Day!!!

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
