Dr. In My Area No Longer Does Lapband. Ugh!

Recommended Posts

It ruined my hair, memory, caused thyroid, adrenal issues, low iodine, anemia, dhea issues, I could go on. Removal will stop all of this. I never had any of this before the band. I would never do this again.

I have not lost much weight at all. I had my band removed in December 2013 and sleeved March 2014 and only lost 34 pds and gained back 13 pds. Now I've learned I'm battling hypoglycemia. I worked out hard over the past few years watched my fat intake and now I'm told I'm not getting enough fat in and to stop working out. Been battling dehydration for over year. I get headaches and acid feeling from my stomach which triggers headaches. I really regret this surgery. All of them

I have a good lap band surgeon with good follow up. The first 2 years are included with the surgery he says that he does less lap bands now. I've been ready about the complications. But I'm also concerned about absorbing Calcium. My mom had a gastric bypass many years ago and can't absorb calcium and has osteoporosis. Have a small area of my spine with osteopenia. My sister had the sleeve this year and now needs surgery for scar tissue. I was all for the band but these stories are scaring me.

The lap band left me with 2 hernias and a ton of scar tissue. I am now having to revise to the sleeve after the doc took my band out and couldn't revise same surgery due to the amount of thick scaring that the band created.

@@wincha I would not do any of them if I were you. I had the band and now sleeve I regret both....

Why do you regret your sleeve?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
