Exercise Help With The Lap Band

Recommended Posts

It's been one year since my lap band surgery (October 2012) I'm stuck as far as exercise. I work 8-430 Monday-Friday. What can I do to help get some of this weight off???

Hi Tiffany, I am a year out (11/12) and have been hitting stall after stall, after 6 months. I recently started T25 and drinking Shakeology for extra Protein. I like that its 25 min and I definitely get a workout! If you have any questions let me know, I would love to help you in your journey!

I'm a year and a half out and live in the KC area (like you, I believe). Check out your local area. Are there community centers that you can join verses a gym? They can be less expensive and just as nice if not nicer. Snap Fitness is also a good choice if you don't like the crowd of a gym. Their treadmills aren't that great but they are open 24/7 and have a great variety of equipment. Do you like DVD's in your own home or enjoy getting outside? If you stay home, really work hard during the dvd. Don't pause, don't skip a part.. push yourself! My biggest advice is to get out there and do what you love. Exercise is grueling when it's stuff you don't enjoy doing. For example, I really hate the treadmill and taking walks.. but I love kayaking, rowing, strength training, etc. Look at your exercise equipment as an investment in you. Think of how much you're now saving on not eating fast food and junk, and put that money into keeping healthy. On top of finding what you love and doing it, strength train!! Building muscle will not only burn more calories but you will look and feel toned. It's a great feeling!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
