Antibiotics With Issues Post Vsg

Recommended Posts

I have a rather delicate question for you ladies. I have been on antibiotics twice since I was sleeved and both times I got a yeast infection. I have only had maybe 2 in my whole life (when I was pregnant) other than that, NEVER have i had these before, my gyn made me come in to verify it b/c I don't get them and honestly it freaked me out cuz I had NO clue what it was. Is this just coincidence or has anyone else had this issue?

Being on antibiotics increase your chance of getting a yeast infection because the antibiotic doesn't differentiate between the good and bad bacteria in our system and kills both, giving yeast a much easier time to get out of control and overgrow. That was one of my fears of being on an antibiotic, because I know how common it happens, but thankfully it didn't.

What DestinClair1983 is saying is correct. Antibiotics are notorious for this happening! In addition if you are on birth control pills it messes with the effectiveness for that month as well.

You have been very lucky! I guess there is a first time for everything. Get an OTC that should take care of it. Nothing fun about them that's for sure!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
