Are Laxatives ok four days out?

Recommended Posts

Is it ok to take a laxative? I had my surgery last Thursday but haven't 'been' since last Wednesday. Help! :-)

Check with your surgeon. I was on IV pain meds and so I had to take a liquid stool softener.

Not allowed pills. I was OK to use Miralax.< /p>

I bought some colace because I have been majorly constipated! hopefully it will help because no one should have to give birth out of their stinky hole lol!

Miralax, colace, and milk of magnesia would be your best bets. A laxative is probably not a great idea but those things should get you moving. I take 2 colace a day and miralax every couple days. Constipation is really a big issue for me. Every time I feel the need to go I dread it so much.

I've been worried about Constipation. I went five days w/o going so this weekend I bought Colace w/stimulant and took it Sunday night. It worked but the GAS I had all day was terrible! I think next time I'll just take plain Colace.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
