My left knee is keeping me from being able to do much in the way of exercise, and the bariatric surgeon cautioned me that even weight loss is not going to improve the level of pain. So I know this is in the cards for me at some point, and I'm worried about the recuperation. I'm especially concerned about how long I might be out of work.

I had my sleeve done 11/13/13 and knee replacement (both at same time) 4/8/14. I had inpatient physical therapy for about a week and I did great (I'm 62). I had lost about 70 lbs when I had the surgery which helped but my surgeon said it wasn't necessary. I feel like a new person! No regrets except wish I had done it sooner. I can now go for walks and exercise more which will help me lose even more weight.

I had both knees replaced a little over two years ago and the results were so good I decided not to jeopardize their lifespan by remaining obese. So Jan of 2014 I got sleeved. Now down over 120 lbs I cannot believe the difference. I bike over 15 miles every night, hit the gym a few times a week and I'm planning on going snow skiing again in March. (first time in over 10 years). And I'm 63.

My advice......if you need it.....don't wait. And if you get it....."ice and elevate" ;)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
