Detox please!

Recommended Posts

I am looking for some good detox recipes out there. Soups. smoothies. I'd like to stay as organic as possible withe recipes.

I am still losing steadily, however, incorporating certain goods back into my like has awakened the sleeping dragon and I'd like to focus on lulling her back to sleep.< /p>

I think several days of dedicated detoxing in a healthy nutrient rich way would be best.

In addition to kickstarting a detox regimine, I would like to cut back, and ultimately eliminate, caffeine. I've stocked up on my decaff green tea.

I don't know what you mean exactly by detox. I make all of my own Soups using natural ingredients such as Soup bones, freshly chopped veggies, herbs grown in my yard, soaked and then boiled Beans, barley, and so on. I just make different soups out of what I have with no set recipes. I will sometimes use a recipe for something like french onion or cream of carrot, but otherwise I just add a ton of fresh veggies to whatever base I want, add herbs and spices, then eat.

I will have to admit that I have never had a smoothie. :o

recipes that will safely inspire elimination. Flush out the system.

I've read it can help get one through sugar/carb withdrawal.

Hey Amanda, Oh She Glows (vegan lifestyle blog) has a few detox smoothie/juice recipes. I can't figure out how to put a link in here from the mobile app, but the one I have in mind was posted on 9/3 (if you go to the "Popular" tab it should pop up on the first page so you don't have to scroll through). She sources a book in her post, "Healing Foods," that may have some good ideas too? Let me know if you try it!

Are you going to be juicing? Or a combo of things?

I've got a list of various detox Soup recipes that are designed to get things moving and help one get past the carb/sugar withdrawal.

Many complain during the Protein shake phase of gagging on shakes but it was so much easier to make good decisions when we had no options!!! Lol

Yes how's it going today?

So far, so good. I made a large pot of the WW cabbage/veggie Soup and portioned it out. I have my fresh fruits and veggies packed.

I found an Asian inspired WW veggie Soup I plan to make and portion out. I'm hoping this will help break the easy carb/slider behavior that was creeping back into my life.

It is not a problem yet, but it can/will be if I don't nip it in the bud now.

That Soup looks good! Especially with the cold weather. Good job Amanda <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Thanx. Truth be told, I'm thinking about food so much today. I'm not hungry but I want to eat.

Must. Stay. Strong.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
