Everyone responds differently, so be patient with your body. This is the worst, and every day now should get a little better - and soon it will start getting a lot better!

I wasn't nauseous, but I had awful diarrhea for the first 6 days...and there was nothing left to come out, believe me! I was sore for about 2 weeks, too. Just give your body the time it needs to heal. Sounds like you are right on track, even though I know it sucks at first. Hang in there!

I am 3 days out and came home yesterday. I am sore but besides that just being home helps so much. I got my drain out b4 I left the hospital and they told me I can shower today! I can't wait it is going to feel so good to blow the stink off. My main concern is getting my liquid requirements in. I saw in my book it says to aim for 4oz every hour. So I am going to try and follow this today. Good luck with your journey!

I'm on day 4 post op today and feel the same way you do, I think the drain and fatigue are the worse symptoms for me. I don't get the drain out till the 30th and I fear pulling it out on accident. I agree with everyone else though we just have to hang in there and remember why we're here and know

it will get better........good luck!

Its great to know that I'm not alone at this current time. My drain comes out on the 29th and I can't wait! Time will prevail!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
