However, my grandfather is going to possibly gelp my pay for sleeve. I am trying to gather as much info I can to present to him to help my case.

Would anyone be willing to write a testimonial on how vsg has positvely changed your life?

Hi Mandy, I would love to help. I was 289 lbs at the start of this journey. I am now 2 months post-op and already down to 223 lbs. My life so far has improved greatly. I am no longer pre-diabetic, my asthma/copd is now under control, my knees and hip barely even bother me anymore, and I am down to a size 14 from a size 24 (total from 1st appt).

My surgery went trouble free. My recovery time was about 2 weeks. If you would like a more thorough, detailed Testamonial, send me a mesage.

There is a great article on another site that discusses all the surgeries and why the sleeve is best. I have a link to it somewhere. PM me and I'll look for it.

Hello, my surgery was Jan. 21st 2013. I started out weighing 360lbs and wearing 4xl shirts and size 44-46 waist pants. In the last 9 months I have lost 140lbs and now weigh 220lbs and wear xl shirt and down to a size 32-34 waist pants. Here is before and now pictures since a picture might help you more.

Tell your FIL that this surgery is a lifesaver. You are so fortunate to have the opportunity to have this done at such a young age. I had sleeve surgery 2 days after my 66th birthday. Went from a size 22-24 to a 14 pants and L shirts. This is just the cosmetic side. My knees and back no longer hurt daily, no more anti inflamatories. Cholesterol meds are cut in half. Best of all (why I had the surgery) went from 150 units of insulin a day to 30 units and it is under control now A1C was 6.2 last visit to doctor. It was 7.9 before surgery.

If you do not have health issues yet this surgery will save you from all this. Not only are you doing this for yourself you are doing this for your little girl. You will be more active with her.

Find a way to do this. Just make sure that you research doctors carefully and chose one that is experienced in sleeve surgery preffully at a center of excellence.

Best of luck.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
