Why Can't I Eat Salad!

Recommended Posts

I'm about 3 months post op and my tummy WILL NOT tolerate salad in any form! I miss it so much....get so sick of dense food and long for something with some crunch! Veggies are a no go as well (even cooked). Antibody else have this issue? Any suggestions? Thx!

I'm right there with you. Frankensleeve didn't like most vegetables - especially fibrous stuff like lettuce. I believe it was around 5 months before the growling stopped, when I tried to eat things like lettuce, squash and green Beans. I thought it was very ironic that processed foods were the things that went down the easiest with my new stomach.

Aw man I love my salads and vegetables!

I'm sorry that you can at least have cooked veggies! Have you tried very vet steamed broccoli or mashed cauliflower?

it's still iffy for me when I eat salad or raw veggies--especially lettuce...I try to minimize lettuce salads, even though I love salads, because it will sometimes go right through me, if you know what I mean

My dr said no salad until 4 mos so I haven't even tried. Fresh smooth salsa goes down great! So does guacamole (evil grin)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
