I had mu surgery 1/23/07. I had my first fill March 1st. I find I am eating about the same before the fill. I am going back March 29th for my second. I don't have any problems eating anything. When you say you can not eat bread, what kind and how are you eating it? I buy the whole wheat Buns andI just eat the top part with chicken salad are turkey breast. I can't eat the 2 pieces together. I am find with Pasta, I just try and chew everything really well.

You know I can eat Pasta really good just not the spiral kind. Anytime i eat bread (anykind) i choke and therefore have decided to stay away from it. i can do crackers really good. i got violently sick eating almonds (i only bit 3), I have one question...I drink pretty fast, like i gulp Water down fast... is that normal with you as well? other than that i am fine and i am eating normal now. cant wait until my first fill.

I have a bad habit of gulping Water down but it does not do me anything. Maybe after a few fills it might. I am really doing well, never had a problem yet. I find I eat about the same amount of food since the fill but I stay full longer.

Hi - bread is a problem for many of us. If you must have it, trying toasting it and sticking with the high grain breads. Soda is off limits forever...it's bad for your band.

If you're expecting the band to do the work for you, you need to re-evaluate. It's a tool, and you have to learn to work with it :)

Now that I've nagged..Hi! Welcome to the Board!!

I was banded on Feb 9th by Dr. Ortiz in Mexico. The whole experience has been great so far. I just recently started eating solid foods and bread can be a problem for me too. I also got sick off eating some chicken too fast, I guess. My first fill is scheduled for April 14th. I can eat more than I thought I would be able to but I am using old fashioned will power to combat that problem. I feel more disciplined since getting the band so I hope to continue to loose weight while waiting for my fill appointment.

Good luck to you!

Hi guys... so far so good. I was battling with a bit of depression and got back on my anti-depressents and started a good diet. I read on other forums about Hair loss and I realized it was normal. i was hitting a low since my hair has been falling out. anyway... i went on sparkpeople and am tracking all my foods and eating a healthy 1200 calorie diet. I even took the advice and also went on coolrunning and went jogging today. will power is easier with the band because i can get full very quickly. You guys are awesome and such quick responders. I get my fill in 2 weeks. i will keep you posted.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
