I was just wondering if anyone here has Crohn's disease. I am pre-op and because of this cannot do "regular" Gastric. I am wondering if you have been sleeved, has it impacted your Crohn's? Better? Worse?

THANK YOU!

I don't have crohns and have not been sleeved yet (Dec), however my dear friend has Crohns and was sleeved 1.5 years ago and has NO issues at all!! Now we know it's not the cure for Crohns but something with this surgery helps...diet perhaps?

I also have Crohns. I have had my consultation and am planning on having the sleeve done. I have the pre-op 6 month diet to do for insurance. I would also love to hear from fellow Crohns patients that had it done!

I do have Crohn's and I have been sleeved for 2 weeks now. To early to really tell. Dr. Brengman took me off of my asacol, but so far so good!

Thank you everyone! I have my upper endoscopy tomorrow. This will determine if I can even be sleeved because of reflux i never knew I had! Grrrrrrrrr! I was hoping to use the "better for Crohn's to be sleeved" card if I had to!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
