I don't know where Dr. Kuri's office is in relation to Dr. Ortiz but Dr. Ortiz uses the Lucerna hotel and I think it is lovely. Clean accommodations, nice rooms (although the last time I stayed there the pillows were hard as a rock) they leave complimentary coffee and Water in the rooms, a beautiful courtyard and pool and two restaurants with many more in the area. I think Dr. Kuri had his bandster bash there so it must be close to his office. Why don't you also ask his office which hotel they use as they might have a discount. i know you can find the lucerna on the internet - www.lucerna.com (or lucernahotel - not sure but I know you could find it)

good luck with your surgery and banded life.

Terry R, We stayed at LaQuinta not far from Dr. Kirshenbaums office, it was ok but would have preferred a place where you enter the room from the inside rather than a outside entrance. Anyhow the service was good, they kept my popsicles in their freezer and the Husband had to do alot of running. I know from reading on here that there are some hotels with mini fridge's. We booked on line with Travelosity and bought a package with plane, car,+ motel included. Good Luck, Sunnysea

I stayed at the Doubletree in Aurora, it was find but I think it was a bit overpriced. I really think your best bet is to call Dr. K's office and get some rcommendations from the staff. Then maybe call a few to get the specifics to make sure they have what you want.

We stayed at the Best Western Gateway Inn and Suites right near Dr. K's office in Aurora. The room was very reasonable, like $60.00 a night. I told them I was having surgery and they gave me a handicapped room on the first floor. It was very convienent. The rooms and hotel were clean. What was nice is that each room had a pretty decent sized mini fridge and microwave in it. I could put my Jello, broth and stuff in the fridge, or heat up my broth in the micro. Since we also had my daughter along, we were able to put a gallon of milk for her in the fridge too. The hotel had a pool and a whirlpool. My husband and daughter enjoyed it. They also had free continental Breakfast in the morning (with a waffle maker - not for you, but your traveling companions :) ) On weeknights, they also had a mini happy hour. Free cans of beer on ice, some wine (wasn't very good, but free) and chips and salsa. My husband had a beer or two each night, so he was happy. They also had a computer you could use for free. I used it to post on lapbandtalk, and to check in for our flight home. There are a lot of nice, casual restaurants around there too.. macaroni Grill, TGIFriday's, Chilli's, Joe's Crab Shack,a brew pub, a mall and a Super Target. All looked like a fairly new development.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
