Return to work HAHA

Recommended Posts

My surgeon recommended two weeks, and I'm SO happy he did! There was no way I could have returned to work sooner than that, and I have a desk job. I was uncomfortable going from sitting to standing, and I was just so tired for about a week after.

I went back to work on November 1st after being banded on the 30th. I bit tired by the afternoon but felt good. This weekend I am relaxing but feeling fine. Knocking on wood right now

Did I read right?!! You went back TWO DAYS LATER??

I think some of it depends on what you actually had done. I had Lapband with plication and a hernia repaired. I needed two full weeks. I couldn't have driven any sooner.

Don't compare to other people. Do what you need to do for yourself.

Yep.. I went back to work two days later. I was actually feeling very well but I always experienced a quick recovery when I have had procedures. I had my surgery on a weds so I figured I could power through one day. I want to keep the banding private and wanted to only take a couple of days off. I fully intended to stay home longer if I did not feel well but I was fine.

I agree, do not compare yourself to others. I have always recovered fast in the past and did not have any complications. Everyone is different.

Everyone recovers differently. I had hernia repair with plication and band on Friday and was at work I'm Monday. I could have used one or two more days. I'm a home health nurse so I drive all of the time and I think that's what made it so hard

Hi all I was banded on 30/09/13 and had 3 weeks off. First week hard but if I'm honest I could have gone back second week but mentally I wanted to prepare. Listen to your body, don't do anything too strenuous for a few weeks 6 wks for proper work outs my gp advised me. Don't worry and self care whenever you can. First week I sat up to sleep in the nights..... I've had my first fill and things are looking up... Keep

Focused ...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
