Plastic Surgery Question

Recommended Posts

Hello all!!

I have scheduled a plastic surgery, and of course i will do whatever my lapband surgeon recommends, but i was just wondering if anyone had experience with this. Do i need to be loosened prior to surgery? I love the level that im at, i think ive finally reached my sweet spot. The plastic surgeon specializes in post weight loss plastic surgery and said that hes never recommended to loosen the band and that his patients never had a problem. I have an appointment with my band surgeon and will ask him,, but has anyone had surgery without being loosened?

Thanks!

Ale,

I just got your email. Sorry, now it makes sense.

No, there is no need to loosen the band. I had quite a bit of CS done (tt, arms, breast lift and implants) at the same time and both my CSurgeon and my Bariatric surgeon said there was no need. Additionally, I was pleasantly surprised postop that I had no issues w/ my band. I could have sworn it would have been tight, but nope. NO stuck issues nothing.

Hope this helps :)

mine remove all my fill. Only because if you are allergic to any of the meds they give you, throwing up could damage your band. At least that was the reason i got. In a way i was glad... the first week after the swelling made my band tight and hard too eat.

i am definitely going to have a SLIGHT unfill. I already told the PS that i need anti nausea medication as i can NOT throw up with the band. He reassured me that he has worked with many band patients. thanks for the responses!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
