I don't know about that brand/type, but if you are having... ummmm... any Constipation or that type of problems what has worked great for me is drinking 1-2 little jars of baby juice, apple prune flavor every day. Usually 1 is fine for me.. anyhow, that keeps things going. :)

As for just adding fiber to the diet, I am looking forward to hearing what people like best. I do need to add more fiber to my diet. I wonder if chewable is okay...veterans?

I keep my band looser so I can eat a good volume of fruit and vegetables and still eat wholegrain breads and cereals. I run a lot so I've still lost weight.

Good volume of high fibre food + vigorous exercise = no Constipation.< /p>

Just be careful if it is the type of fibre product that swells and turns into a gel ( like metamucil), You need to be able to drink quite a reasonable amoutn of Water to wash these through or they can make you feel Stuck, particularly early after being banded. Plus, if you don't drink adequate fluids with this type they can actually add to the problem by firming things up!

Benefibre is the product that was recommeded to us post band- it dissolves easily, you don't need to drink it quickly after mixing. Its guar gum based product in contrast to the physilum husk types like metamucil

Vitamised vege Soup or pureed fruits are Ok if you are on mushie stuff- pureed cooked apple etc

Oh, sorry I didnt read your post thoroughly enough to realise you're 2 weeks post op.

As you move into mushies, you can make things like mashed vegetables, lentil dahl, I made a huge pot of lentil and vegetable Soup that I blended up chunkier than when I'd had it during liquids, fruit smoothies, my favourite meal was a salad of cucumber and Tomato (both peeled for musies), chick peas, avocado and a can of flavoured tuna, tinned fruit, stuff like that still contains fibre.

Although obviously on such reduced volume as compared to normal, there are some digestive adjustments. I never had to take anything though and it all normalised once I was eating well on solid foods.

I take metamucil. I do eat well and include veggies and other foods with fiber plus I exercise about an hour a day; however, I still think I need my metamucil. I don't have any problems taking it, just make sure you drink enough Water. I can't explain it...post-band I just don't have the same "system" I used to!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
