Anyone getting banded in Nov?

Recommended Posts

Thursday is the big day. The hospital changed my arrival time from 5:00 am to 7:30 am (much more civil) Op will probably start at 10:30 and possibly be released no later than 1:00. Today spent re-reading all the material the Dr.s staff has given me. Have everything in the house that I think I'llneed. Now just need to get through tomorrow.

Hi Tyler, good luck with everything! Nice that you don't have to be there at five, that's for sure. Are you staying overnight or out-patient? I am one week banded as of today and I'm so happy. Best wishes to you....

Bandista, I am an outpatient so no overnight. I think overnight would be better but gotta do what the Dr orders. I have been following your progress and it seems you are on the right track. I think that we'll all wish we had done this years ago. At least I'm hoping. I look forward to getting off HBP medicine. I'll post my experience after my procedure. Thanks for the good wishes, back to you!

I was supposed to have my surgery Monday but I have not been on in a few days because I was super upset and disgusted....my surgery got postponed for a few weeks because they found an infection in my urine when I went for my surgical pre-testing. They gave me an antibiotic that I have to take for 2 weeks and then I have to see if it is cleared then they will re-schedule me. I don't know if I am going to make the November cut off :( I was literally in tears in the doctors office. So disappointed but it is not something I can control so I must grin and bear it. Congrats to everyone who got banded!! :D

I know exactly how you feel. I was in the middle of my last test, when the Drs office called to tell me I had a stomach infection. I had to take 2 weeks of antibiotics then wait 2 weeks before I could be retested. And now my Drs office has screwed up things with my insurance, so I have to wait for them to do a peer to peer review. They won't even schedule me until the insurance approves. I've been so mad, at this point I'm hoping to get in by the end of the year.

So frustrating--wish I had words of advice, but know you're not alone!

Beerx & Kmb-so sorry that things are moving slowly, I hope it gets worked out for you soon!

Tomorrow will be a week since I've had my surgery. I am down about 8 lbs from my pre-surgery prep weight. I can really tell that I get fuller, faster. I don't really worry about what I am going to eat right now since I'm still on a liquid diet. My stomach is still gurgling but it seems to be getting better. Some pain at the incision sites but I know these will take more time to heal. I've been back to work since Tuesday and other than being tired and a little sore I've been fine. I go back to my surgeon next Tuesday and hopefully will be cleared to move onto mushy food. Hope everyone else who has had surgery this month is doing great!

Beergirl and Kmb, you couldn't have foreseen or controlled what happened. Infections happen. You'll take your antibiotics, kick them in their a**es and then get your surgeries. November, December. You will get them. This. Is. Happening. Never doubt it. :D

My surgery is slated to be outpatient, also. As long as I am stable and good to go, I prefer it. When I had my lap chole that wasn't in March, it was outpatient. I had my op in the morning and was home, chillin' like a villain in my lovely, puffy recliner, watching my own TV, being waited on hand and foot by my sweet hubby by lunch time. I like recovering at home. I feel much happier, more relaxed, :)

Hello!! I'm scheduled for my WLS sleeve tmrw 11/14 at 8:30am. My emotions are out of control.

I'm scared, nervous, have anxiety and moments of excitement. I keep asking myself if I'm doing the right thing.

I got a call from the hospital to schedule my pre surgery registration for next week. It is really starting to feel real but I am not getting too excited because my insurance company still has my case as pending. Today is officially 2 weeks since submitted so I figured I would call today and see if I have been approved yet. Good luck to anyone getting banded this week!!

Day 9 post surgery feeling way better. Went to the Dr yesterday and nutritionist. Changed my diet from Clear Liquids to puree having oatmeal this morning and had mashed potatoes yesterday and they were great. Next week I will be able to have more stuff since my diet will be mashed. 15 pounds gone already!! Using clothes that did not fit before surgery. Good luck to everyone getting banded hang in there. God bless everyone.

Okay question. I am scheduled for banding on Wednesday the 27th for banding. I intend to return to work Monday Dec 2. I have a desk job no lifting. Is it too soon? I really don't want to tell my job so I did 't want to take too much time. For all who have been banded thus far could you gone in to work on day 5?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
