Motivation has disappeared......

Recommended Posts

It seems that over the last few weeks my motivation to do anything has disappeared. I haven't worked out in 3 weeks, my eating is bad, & I just don't want to do anything. I found out recently that I might have to have an ovary removed & a possible hysterectomy. I am only 35 & have never had children. I think this has effected me more than I think. Plays with the head really. Trying to get back into my routine but I think until I get answers in a few days it's just not gonna happen. I just feel so alone in this. It has taken a toll on my work products, my school assignments, & even my friendships. I feel like I just need to get my ass out of my head but I really don't want to. Ok enough of the putty party......I just needed to vent a little.

Talk to your doctor about your depression. Some meds for a few months, perhaps some therapy, would probably be a great help to get you through this difficult time.

I have been seeing a therapist & hope to talk with her my next visit. This has popped it's ugly head after our last session. I will talk with my doc about that. I have always been against it but ever since the surgery it seems my chemicals are a little off. I even get more paranoid during my cycle each month. Thanks for listening. I just think it hasn't been this bad in a while & I can take care of it myself.....which apparently I need a little help :-)

We all can completely understand getting off track - but you have to jump back on. The possibility of not having children is very stressing! Remember they are other way surrogates, adoption, etc.. The future is so big, we never know what's going to happen 5 or 10 years down the road. No matter what, you being healthy is going to help the situation and stress is only going to make it worse. Remember life is a snails pace race ---

I JUST started having to take Zoloft for anxiety. Against everything I've ever believed about taking meds for my emotions (my whole background is in psych, so I see what these drugs can do to people over time). It got to the point where I was having panic attacks over the traffic in pittsburgh (which IS really awful, so I am justified! Haha)... But ever since I started taking a 1/2 tab of the lowest dose, I have totally found myself again. I feel "normal" again... Not tense and anxious all the time. So nice. My doctor said that gastric bypass can really throw hormones off, especially in women, and he sees this happen a lot. He counseled me for over an hour (I only had a 20 min appt). Lol he made me realize that I'm NOT crazy and it IS ok to accept help once and a while... Even in the form of meds.

Thank you :-) I have made an apt with my doc with a note from my therapist for an antidepressant. It doesn't hurt to ask for a little help. Heck I ask for help when I decided to get the surgery.

Again thank you :-D

So sorry you are having a difficult time. I had a hysterectomy at 40 . I don't have any children and had just started dating my husband.. I understand what you are going through. Feel free to message me if you want to talk. Take care

Thank you mitzie46 I might take you up on that offer. Have my first, I assume of many, appointments to figure out what is wrong with my down there. I just hope to have a resolution before my next cycle because I don't want to be in that much pain ever again.

I do not have children either and not sure if I want any. I suffered so long with painful periods and irregular cycles I'm not sure what I want anymore.

So I saw a specialist & did not like her one bit. So I decided to seek a second opinion. Is this over reaction on my part? People told me no because when your gut tells you this is not right you do something about it. So my next apt is next Friday. It is still a little discouraging but we will see. Have a doc apt this morning to discuss antidepressants. I am proud of myself for even seeking this help :-)

I don't think it's an overreaction at all! Trust your gut. Good job taking care of yourself!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
