Need help! I have to lose at least 17lbs. In two weeks or I won't be an October surgery any ideas how to take it off fast.

Have you given up carbs? My nutritionist had me give up my sugar and carbs. So all I eat is protein and produce and the weights been falling off. I lost about 20lbs the first month and have been losing 2-3 lbs a week since.

Just got my date, Oct. 21st. My liquid diet start oct 7.

I have my first support group in about an hour. Don't really know what to expect... I actually feel a little anxious!!!

With that I say thank you I didnt know that when I startd this form that I would meet such wonderful lady's to share my journey with.

I feel the same!!! Glad we all met!! :) raja the support groups are great!!! I plan to go to as many as I can after the surgery too! It's so great to everyone's stories and to know you're not alone!! :)

Quite a long day- all my pre-op appointments in one day. Met with my surgeon, his PA, had labs, EKG, chest X-ray, 1.5 hr nutrition class, then over to the hospital for admissions paperwork, nurse education (what to do the day before surgery), and pre-anesthesia appointment. Then I went to be a participant in a parent focus group on discipline code for my son's school district. I'm wiped out! I need to go to work to relax tomorrow. ;-)

Next step, 2 week liquid diet starts on 9/18. Then surgery 10/2. It's now very real, but I feel ready.

Glad that everything went well for you today Madsion I have pre op on the 1st of October I am like you I am ready

I am scheduled for October 1st. I start the liquid protein pre-op diet on the 17th of Sept. I am not looking forward to that part of it as I have heard that it is the hardest part. I am excited about the surgery and looking forward to getting healthy.

Dee, I have actually been on an all liquid diet before for 8mos. and it is really not that bad. Keep your mind occupied for the first few days and try to avoid TV for the first week or so (the food commercials are KILLER), but after that its smooth sailing! BEST OF LUCK ON YOUR WLS JOURNEY! ;)

It was a medically supervised liquid diet (protein shakes)....worked well (140 lbs. lost) BUT GAINED ALL BACK + after stopped liquids :(

Caligal: I have been doing protein and a select few of veggies lost 8lbs. Since Friday, but I slipped and had a small Smitty's fries loaded with vinegar. Damn festivals!

Awesome job Arobb!!! Pat yourself on the back for your weight loss, dust the salt off your fingers LOL, and get back in the saddle YOU HAVE ALREADY PROVEN YOU CAN DO IT ;)

Lol I know I can do it if I put my mind to it. The plus sides I don't eat salt because of past high blood pressure and I've been keeping sugar out as well since being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes two months ago.

I loved it! I have 2 more as a requirement for surgery but I'll probably continue to attend :)

Just a quick tip for anyone who misses sweetened tea: try Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice tea. No caffeine or sugar but a sweet taste that gets sweeter the longer you steep it.
