  1. Hello all fellow Novembers...I am new to the thread but not to the forums (moved over from October:) My surgical team is submitting for November 12. I am in Decatur, Illinois and am having the RNY. Starting wt. 280 Current wt. 264 goal wt. 148 I am super excited to have you all as surgery buddies <3
  2. So super happy for you...prayers for speedy recovery!
  3. Welcome kkelly...I will keep my fingers crossed you hear back soon re: your approval!
  4. I am sooooo jealous everyone is getting their dates BUT incredibly happy for you all and will be sending thoughts and prayers your way!!
  5. Dee, I have actually been on an all liquid diet before for 8mos. and it is really not that bad. Keep your mind occupied for the first few days and try to avoid TV for the first week or so (the food commercials are KILLER), but after that its smooth sailing! BEST OF LUCK ON YOUR WLS JOURNEY!
  6. I'm thinking about paying to have it waxed....I was gonna have hubs shave but I got to thinking about the itching when it's going to be growing in post-op EEEEKKKKK,
  7. Hey DebbieDenise I'm from Illinois and just spent a beautiful week up your way on Mackinac Island!!
  8. My surgical group has you go on a pre-op diet to lose 5-10% of total body weight, to show that you are dedicated to making the post-op changes required for long term success. Also they have told us (my sister-in-law) and I are making this journey together) if we gain any before surgery, we are OUT!
  9. I will not miss: Huffing and puffing crossing the parking lot at work Always being hot Never looking good in my clothes Never wanting to go out Not fitting in airline/ theater/ ride etc...seats Not being active Not being comfortable being intimate Not being able to breathe after eating Giant, heavy, skirted bathing suits Watching from the sidelines Feeling like I'm wearing a fat suit/ being uncomfortable in my own skin Spending all my hard earned money on massive quantities of food Not fitting in allll my beautiful jewelry Granny panties Ugly utility style bras Horrible back pain Sleeping in the recliner Staying inside all summer ............
  10. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement Hopefully our Christmas Present will be post-op recovery and a BIG WHOPPING WEIGHT LOSS!!! :)
  11. Yes my surgical team requires 5-10 percent weight-loss prior to even submitting to insurance for approval ( I am currently following the 1600 cal diet they put me on) Then 2wks. of liquid protein diet prior to surgery to shrink the liver and make it safer (which I'm AOK with lol). You are soooo right about proving my point! I explained to them I have lost over 100lbs 3 times in the past and that when I realized my weight was so out of control I went back to my previously successful methods and COULD NOT LOSE so I knew I had to get more drastic!!!! If I could lose my self why would I be having SURGERY
  12. Had my second Nutritionist appt. today and TOTAL disappointment!!!! I had followed all the recommendations PLUS started lifestyle changes (quit carbonated beverages and caffeine, NO SWEETS, journaling, Vitamin and Calcium, STARTED DRINKING Water (nothing but), small bites, chewing freq, no drinking immediately before, during, or after meals, started regular fitness plan etc etc etc... lost 3lbs and it was not enough I FEEL LIKE A FAILURE.....Needless to say no definite surgery date today :(
  13. Hey all....I attended an informational seminar, initial appointment with surgeon, nutritionist meeting, psych eval, I had a Barium Swallow, loooots of labs, EGD, 2 support group meetings, go back to nutritionist on Monday and hopefully get a surgery date AM SO READY
