A bit nervous about tomorrow. Got to go in for my pre op evaluation. I have read up on all the tests they could do. Feeling curious about which ones they will do on me. Getting ready to start my 12 day pre op liquid diet. Got my low sodium chicken broth, beef broth, Protein shakes. Some sugar free Jello. Unflavored whey Protein powder to mix in with my broth. Hubby bought me some sugar free pudding. Not sure that counts as a liquid though. Got my baby plate fork and spoon a while ago. Also picked up this new transition sippy cup to help with the sipping of my liquids. I think I'm ready. My last supper will be tomorrow night. My husband has planned to take me to out to a nice restaurant after the all day testing and learning marathon. I still plan to try and stick to my limits though. While still enjoying myself.

I just got the date for my revision. Halloween! I will be having my RNY revised, a small bowel obstruction removed and adhesions removed. Really excited but scared. I don't know why since I did this almost 9 years ago the first time.

Hi pear. When did you have your initial RNY?

My initial surgery was in January 2005. I lost 97 lbs and was happy (152 lbs). In January 2009 after I was finished with an extremely horrible divorce I fell into a huge depression. Long story short w/in 3 years I gained about 70 lbs back. This past January I decided to look into a revision specialist to see what my options were. I hesitated for awhile thinking he couldn't or wouldn't do anything. Finally in August I met with the doc and now I'm having my revision and a couple other procedures that need to be fixed after the doc did an EGD. Basically I'm treated like it's my first RNY. I had to meet all the insurance requirements and such.

So I called the insurance company today and they said my case is under physician review. I forgot to ask if that's protocol or not. Does anyone here know? I know they put my date down as the 30th but I'm freaking out because they've submitted my paperwork on the 9th and I still haven't gotten an answer. I can't even get myself to diet, I'm so anxious! :(

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
