Make homemade lemon or limeade w/spenda to taste. Good chilled or w/ice. Or room temp (which I like

Why the cold restriction? Did they explain? I could have cold from the beginning if I wanted to, and no sugar added Popsicles have been a staple this summer.

I also woke up in recovery after surgery with ice chips. They brought them constantly for me. Have drank ice cold since surgery and Popsicles too.

Hmmm ..... different surgeon, different requirements.

I was also given cups of ice chips while in the rec room. Pre-op, I could only drink room temp Water. I loved it that way. Post-op? Only cold Water, shakes, etc. Everything rests in the fridge now.

Though, I wonder why you are not allowed anything cold for so long. Time to Google. Hehe

I couldnt tolerate ice cold beverages after surgery. Now I'm almost at 4 weeks post-op and I can now handle a glass of ice Water and it doesnt "hurt" going down.

I have always been able to tolerate room temp or hot beverages. Glad that I can drink a big glass of lemonade with ice cubes!!!! Tastes so good!

I tell you newbies..you guys should sip on warm or hot Decaf tea. It'll help you guys get use to drinking and tolerating liquids. Then start to make it cooler then colder as the days and weeks go on. I'm now 4.5 months post op and I can tolerate any temp and I can kill a Water bottle off during my 30 mins workout. I've even drank up to 3 Water bottles during a 60 min hike

The more and more you drink.. the easier it becomes.

I promise you that!

Some people have trouble tolerating cold beverages after surgery so your doctor was probably being cautious. If it's that bad that you aren't drinking then I would try some ice in it and see how it goes. Just take it slow. Good luck!

I've been putting it in the fridge and that has seemed to help!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
