Omg....surgery tomorrow morning, and Im terrified!

Recommended Posts

I know this is redundant on this site, but I am terrified!! I feel like cancelling this surgery...this is my 3rd time around as some of you know and Im scared of the surgery, and of failure...this is my last hope, I did do well with the band, until it prolapsed and then gained 40 lbs back...but the sleeve did not work for me, so is the 3rd time a charm....Oh God I hope so...I just want to start living my life again...Im not a spring chicken anymore, I will be 57 in Nov...The surgery itself scares the crap out of me, but the though of failing again is just as scary.....Im suppose to be eating my last solid food this morn..for weeks and I dont have an appetite...Ha...isnt that ironic....

Sorry for the complaining, I am just really really scared...

Being scared is all normal, and since you have had other procedures you know what the drill is... you are going to be fine. This surgery WILL work !! But you have to put your best foot forward as well, diet and exercise are key to the success :) Hang in there you will be so happy after I promise.

Sorry everyone, still not 100% sure how these things work....I am doing well, the only new thing is I have developed a really nasty rash on my stomach below the panty line, I have never had this and it started a few days after surgery, not sure what it is, it itches terribly, the doc thought it might be some sort of allergy, but now Im beginning to wonder if it is the "fungal rash" I hear everyone talk about since the cortizone cream didnt help...anyone know about tummy rashes,,,other than that, Ive lost 10 lbs, I am doing puree, I still get tired at time and I still get hungry,,,grrrrrr......Im so glad you asked about me, How are you doing?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
