I cannot believe that my surgery is three days away. It seems like yesterday they assigned me a date ( and that was in June) and it seems like a month ago I met my surgeon ( and that was in January). What I mean to say is time had flown by and now I feel like I can't catch my breath.

Please tell me it is all going to be ok. Right now I can't seem to see around everything to the place where I live a semi normal life. And I worry if I am prepare for everything or if I'm going to fall hard and ruin everything I've worked so hard for.

Hi Karebear..

My surgery is in 9 days assuming all the moving parts line up (insurance approval etc.). I haven't had a chance to worry much about the surgery because of all the other crap worries. Just think positive and go for it! I hope you have a good experience! Get ready to start your new life!

Nope! I'm eight days away from surgery and starting to panic over little crap. I've been super busy jumping through all these hoops but I'm nervous. I'm nervous that ill regret this although that seems to be rare. I'm nervous that i will do all this and fail like carney Wilson. I'm worried because i can't stand these Protein Shakes. Its frightening going into the unknown. I'm just trying to focus on the end result.....losing this weight! I want to be thin, i want that badly. Focusing on that helps me.

It is completely natural to feel this way. But trust me it is the best thing we could have done for ourselves. As for being afraid of failing, the advice I really took from my nutritionist is after the required appointments are over to come back and see them as soon as you notice you are gaining again. She said it is a lot easier to fix 5 pounds than 100. Be honest with yourself and as soon as you suspect you are forming old habits, go see your support team!

Also don't forget to take a before picture and keep that as your motivation!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
