Was admitted to the hospital today with possibility of a esophageal stent tomorrow. Dr said he injected steriods for all of the inflammation I had monday and he wanted me to have an upper GI to see if they'd done any good. I went down and drank the dye gagging the entire time, and it went down. Doctor says my stricture is good for now, but he thinks my body is trying to reject the new plumbing. Says it rarely happens and it can take up to 4 months to get better. I am constantly nauseated and dry heaving. He's going to try and get me on a good combination of meds before I go home. He said most likely I will lose all of my weight before my body settles down considering that I'm already down to 190. I'm just hoping to hold onto my sanity during this time. Cannot believe I had a stricture and now this... as if one wasn't enough. I'm supposed to stay on sugar free clears until further notice.

The last two days were really hard for me in terms of Water and Protein. There are just going to be good days and bad days. Not drinking before or after meals is especially troublesome with my Fluid intake since I'm doing about 4 or 5 small meals. It feels like I'm constantly waiting for the 30 minutes to be up so I can drink!

Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 306

I agree that it seems like I am always waiting.

I am five weeks post opp' date=' and I went to Dr today for my follow up. Since 6-11-13 I have lost 32.2 lbs since then. But I must admit I was a little sad because I only lost 9 pounds since my last appointment which was three weeks ago. I know 9 lbs is good but I wish it was more. It made me more determined to work harder.[/quote']

That's great! And 9lbs is nothing to sneeze at...when was the last time you lost that much in 3 weeks? That's 3 a week!! Keep it up & it will melt off

Vita, 9lbs is great, that's like 3lbs a week. When I went to the doc, I was told I was 60 lbs from my goal and I thought to myself, if I lose at least 2 lbs a week, I'll be at my goal in 7 months, so look at it this way, when the last time we lost 10 lbs in a month?? That's awesome, you are on the right track my friend.

So I'm up… eating a little egg white with turkey sausage… and then off for my morning walk… this weight loss is a time consuming full time job! I hope I can figure out an exercise schedule once school starts in september!

Michelle, you are always in my thoughts. Hopefully everything will get better soon!

So far I have had no aversions to anything I've eaten… this worries me at times because I don't want to fall back into old patterns later on…

I think for me one of the hardest parts is figuring out the exercise schedule. Things sometimes just have to take precedence over it when my boys are involved or the house is a disaster! My husband, on the other hand, never changes his schedule for exercising. He just decides he is going and then whatever needs to be done just has to wait. I guess its because I am a Mom and I have always put my boys ahead of my own needs. I keep thinking if I could just get everything done, then I could keep it clean and tidy, but that never seems to happen. :)

I'm sorry a bunch of us are struggling a bit but its good to know I'm not alone! I've been on heavy staph antibiotics since I left the hospital, and they have made it next to impossible to drink without getting nauseous. food went down fine - Water was killing me. To make a long story short, my endocrinologist couldn't even get blood because I was so dehydrated, so I went to my urgent care to get fluids and nausea medicine. I've been sooooo much better! So don't hesitate to ask for fluids if you are having trouble getting them in!

Surgery Date - 6/24

Down about 30 lbs

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
