Feeling so sick. Got in two 25 minute walks but less than one Protein Shake. Still burping the taste of Soup I ate early yesterday. I am miserable. I also got sick after eating 1/3 a cup of a different soup today but no food actually came up. Any suggestions? Does it sound like I am blocked?

This kinda sucks... Only 6 days post op.

So I'm still in the liquid phase. Only allowed Protein Shakes and Clear Liquids. My goal is 2 oz Protein every hour and 4 to 6 oz of hydration liquid every hour. Hydration is not a problem but I really hate the protein. That goal of 50 grams of protein seems impossible sometimes.

Yesterday and today I've been experimenting with adding Protein Powder to the premix shakes to increase the protein content. Then I measure it out in little shot glasses and stick them in the freezer. Easier to tolerate as ice cream and the protein content is so high it only soft freezes. I also eat it with a baby spoon so I don't eat it too fast.

Doing it this way I can cram up to 6 grams of protein into a 2 oz shot. Then I just stagger the hours I eat the protein. On the off hours I get in 6 oz of clear liquids easy and on the hour I take the protein I get in the 4 oz of clear liquids in addition to the protein shot. I got in a total of 49 grams yesterday and 55 grams today! I feel good and my energy level is picking up

Just thought I would share, maybe this will help someone else who is struggling to get the protein in.

I was sent home with these requirements:

2 - 8 oz Protein shakes per day

32 oz clear liquids

3 - 1/4-1/2c meals a day of pudding, yogurt, or blenderized "chunky" Soup

It is a lot. I haven't managed to get all of it in any day yet. I get the protein all in some days, or I get the liquids... But never all 3 meals yet. And I am SO SO tired of protein shakes. Whoever thought drinking them for 5 weeks straight 2-3 times a day should be water-boarded....

Well about fed up with this stricture. It has closed off yet again, so they admitted me to the hospital today. Tomorrow they're going to try and put a stent in my esophagus to hold it open. I'm hoping this is the answer. Happy 4th of July everyone!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
