I'm not in the buyers remorse stage of post op yet, but I am really wondering if this is normal. I know its a tiny pouch and all that but I'm not getting in anywhere near what my stage 2 diet says I should be. I can't handle thicker liquids at all. I walk around feeling like I just ate a large dinner with all the trimmings. I can't even take my night time meds because its just too much Fluid at once. I finally passed gas and had a bm but its doesn't seem to be helping with my tummy. I feel like I am so full that I can't even take a deep breath. It doesn't hurt and I'm not throwing up so good news there. I just don't understand how I'm supposed to be getting in 1/4 to a 1/2 cup of food a few times a day when I can't drink more than 1 oz of liquid every 15 minutes still. And it has to be warm and thin liquid at that. My insides are grumbling and I know I still have a lot of gas to move but its just crazy this uncomfortable feeling. I want some restriction but not to the point of malnutrition. It can't be good for my body to not get in enough Fluid daily. So I'm going to see how this goes this weekend and maybe call the surgeons office on Monday if it's not getting any better.

My husband is concerned that I'm going to get dehydrated. I kind of think they should have kept me the extra day at the hospital so I could keep IV fluids at least. Is this pretty normal?

I was only supposed to eat or drink an ounce at a time for the first 6 weeks....:I could do a little more but certainly not 1/2 a cup got a least 2 months....my advice is sip slowly all day long, if you can't get Clear Liquids down then these is a definite problem!!!

The begining is hard. Momma is right just sip all day long. It will get better in a few weeks. I remember I had more phone programed to remind me to eat and dring (i still do this) and I would just be finishing one shake and need to start the next. Remember that shakes count as a liquid too... Good Luck on your journey... its going to be spectacular!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
