Trying some room temp crystal light again. Keeping about half if it down. Going to try some tea once it cools off a bit. Anything hot or cold seems really irritating. Burping up a storm still. Ugh.

I have loved reading what all of you who had surgery last week are going through; it is really preparing me for my surgery in a few weeks. I had a question for you all: what was the one thing that surprised you the most or wished someone told you before going in?

Is it true dairy can have a calming effect on the stomach? I'm wondering if I should try a little Protein powder with milk if it does. These spasms are for the birds.

The drain bulb that you come home with. It really slows you down and makes everything on your right side uncomfortable. And you have to empty it twice a day. UGH!

I wish someone would have shared with me how EXHAUSTED this surgery leaves you. I have had a few surgeries and I was always able to get up and moving within a day or two. I am still dragging and I am almost a week out. This is worrying me because I had planned on going back to work next Wednesday. I am going to try and make it through today without any hard pain meds. I have been taking them regularly, every 8 hours, since I got home. I think the meds are contributing to my sleepiness. I just have an overall feeling of "blah" that I haven't experienced in the past. Just make sure you have adequate time to heal up.

Just how tired you get doing ordinary activities. I went out with my family yesterday for about 2 hours. When I got home I was so tired I took a two hour nap.

Well I have 10 days left Til surgery and I am sooooo worried that my liver will be to large to have the surgery. I've been on this liver shrink diet three weeks but I have messed up a few times like last night I ate chips and salsa at the Mexican restaurant and last week I had low sugar ice cream every night and I've had sandwiches for lunch instead of salad for a few days.. I have messed up so bad the last week and I'm nervous my liver won't be small enough. :-(

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
