Yay! Doing much better. Been up and walking around. My back has just been killing me though from laying. As for everything else I'm feeling Ok. Haven't used my morphine pump for a while. Just feels like really sore tummy muscles. Going to doing my upper GI make sure no leaks and then they'll give me something to drink. My throat hurts is sooooo dry

May 9! Not so nervous about the actual surgery as I am the recovery. We have a LOT going on. My Dad is in his last days in hospice, my 5 yr old is staying with my mom while I'm in the hospital (the surgery is at 7:30, we have to be there at 5) and then the night after. We have just moved out to the country but thankfully have the city house where the surgery is happening. And I'm a full-time student, but online. I know there's no way to predict how things will go but I'm worried about how it's all going to fall into place afterwards and how I'll do recovery-wise. I'm pretty tough, but studying while not feeling great will be rough and I'm wondering about driving my daughter into the city (about an hour with traffic) to school once I'm able to. Ugh! So much on my mind. My husband is taking off Thursday thru the weekend so that's cool. I'm just nervous and overwhelmed I guess. Lol

Feeling overwhelmed today. Had my endo yesterday & had a hard time with the narcotics wearing off. Once the sedative finally wore off' date=' I felt high as a kite & it's finally subsiding about 36 hours later. I missed an extra day of work that I wasn't planning on and have a Migraine, yet the worst part was hearing my results. I had no clue that I would have so much deterioration of my esophagus, let alone a large hiatal hernia. A couple of providers are lagging on getting medical records to my surgeon. I've made so many phone calls and get the same story, they supposedly faxed them multiple times, yet the surgeon's office insists they haven't gotten anything. I don't even know which place to trust. How hard is it to fax a few pages??? I suppose the next step is to request the records in-hand & drive them to their office myself, which would require taking another day off work. After all of this, I just feel NUMB.[/quote']

Update: Thank God, as of Weds, ALL of my requirements are met, aka my records that I was waiting & waiting on all finally got faxed & received, imagine that! The receptionist thinks my insurance will approve within about a week, then it's scheduling time. I am still hoping & praying for a May date...

I'm glad you're feeling better. Rest and hope your back gets better soon. That's what I'm worried about....if I lay down too much my back hurts. I might be walking more than I thought just to help.

Keep us posted :)

Well I have 3 more full days until my surgery. It has been an exhausting week of emotions and yesterday I was dizzy all day. Can't wait until this liquid thing is all over....well at least this part :) So far I am down 26 pounds and I can't believe I reached my goal of being under 400 before my surgery. I just hope I can keep it off over the weekend....going to try and walk as much as I can.

I hope everyone else is doing good on their liquid diets. It is a emotional ride and trust me I never thought I could do it and I have so you all will be AWESOME :D

Hi all. This is my first time posting here. I am scheduled for RNY on May 13th. I originally was planning to have the sleeve done, and within the past week, did some intensive research, and have concluded that RNY would be a better fit for me. There are three other women who are having RNY at the same hospital (St Lukes, Allentown, PA) on the same day, and we are all excited to support one another. I just love extra support, so hope you don't mind my posting here! :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
