So I am exactly 2 weeks away from my surgery date. It seemed soooo far away when I started planning for it. Thank God everything has gone well. I saw my surgeon today to go over lab results and he asked that I get an ultrasound to make sure I don't have gallbladder stones, he says it is better to get it removed at the same time if there were any stones. I've read this is pretty common. He is also taking care of a hiatal hernia, which is actually how all this began. Bypass was never an option for me (or so I thought) and here I am, posting about surgery coming sooner than expected.... I am soooo happy and excited about the new and healthier me coming soon! :D

So exciting!! That would be good to get the gallbladder out at the same time. I really wanted mine out (even though I don't have symptoms), because its so common to need it out after surgery. But my surgeon said no. lol

I was actually going to ask him if it was an option to get it removed, and then thought how they must hate for patients to make suggestions on how to do their job, hahahaha, luckily it was his suggestion... now I only hope I have at least one stone so he can remove it, LOL!

Gallbladder has no stones, so it stays... I hope that does not convert into another surgery anytime soon after my bypass surgery :P

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
