2 years post op...problems with my teeth?!?

Recommended Posts

I'm just curious if anyone has had problems with their teeth. Never in my life have I had cavities, but the last 6 months I've had problem after problem. Fillings, root canals, caps...you name it and I've suffered through it. I'm wondering if its related to my surgery and Calcium malabsorption or if its just part of turning (insert dramatic music) forty.

Well, I am pre-surgery, but I had perfect teeth until I got pregnant. After that, periodontists, root canals and crowns. But, I do think if you don't take enough calcium it can make it worse.

your mouth does not like to be acidic. hormones fluctuating, stress and food intake will all play a part in lowering the pH level in your mouth leaving it more prone to gum disease and decay. The mouth at a lower pH allows bacteria to reek havoc. The calcium intake while important, is most likely not the culprit in relation to the WLS. Ask your hygienist for a Rx fluoride paste. What this does is soak into the pores (dentinal tubules) in the enamel and harden. Tomorrow..another dose layers in and hardens and after a few weeks of use, has provided a solid protection against sensitivity and thwarts decay. You don't need an appointment to pick this up at your dentist. Most dentists carry a Rx fluoride for around $18-$25. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
