So surgery is Feb 20th. Preop diet starts Feb 10th.

I'm consumed with wanting everything I know I will not be able to, and will not allow myself to eat!

Yes, I had a few food funerals. I made it, I'm 9 days away from surgery. Pre-op isn't that bad, just like any other diet that I have done time and time again, except this one will certainly end differently! Best of luck on the 20th~

Yes good luck to us all!

I stopped caffeine and all carbonated drinks 3 weeks ago. This past week has been my hault on Advil, (which I was an addict too) Tylenol sucks. Trying to lower the carb intake now until Sunday. Oh stopped alcohol this past Sunday.

French onion Soup has lots of cheese on top. Caffeine irritates the lining in your stomach

I can have caffeine until surgery day. I stopped the wine at the beginning of my pre-op. I am 1 week away and have lost 9 lbs. I had 1 rough day, and a slight headache today. Other than that, it's been okay. I am so focused on the end result that I think that is why I am doing okay. And... my Doc said when I check in next Thursday, he will ask me if I have followed the diet, and when he gets in there he will know because of the size of my liver. All of my tests are great, so I think I can suffer a few more days. Good Luck everyone!

Check with your doc as all are different, but French onion soup should be fine post op. cheese has good Protein values.

Well one more day on liquid diet and then SURGERY!! Cannot believe it is so close. Tomorrow is going to drag. Went to movie tonight with my daughter and the smell of popcorn was torturous. But the new beginning is in sight. Praying for you all.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
