Ok, I feel like I'm being way to strict with my diet. I read on here all the yummy food people are having and I really tend to eat the same things. I avoid carbs like the plague (about 30grams or less a day) and about 60-70grams of Protein. But in order to reach protein goal I have to drink two shakes. MFP is set to 500 cals 11grams of fat, 38 carbs 10 sugars and 63 protein. Lately I have been finding I've been going over my fat and sugars which makes me nervous. But I couldn't imagine eating some of the things I'm seeing on here and sticking with my mfp values. Do I change my diet and mfp? What are everyone else's values set at on mfp?

I have my cals set at 800-1200, carbs at 80-100(per my dietitian), protein 80-100, and fat at 27-60... I stay within these boundaries and have been losing slowly, but fairly consistently. My doctor told me I'd go in to starvation under 800 cals and need to stay at AT LEAST 800.

You NEED carbs for your brain function, BTW! 80-100 is still considered "low carb". You also want to make this a "lifestyle"... Do you see yourself eating 500cals and 30 carbs for the REST OF YOUR LIFE?? Probably not, but I'm sure you coul adjust your life to 800-1200 cals and 80-100 carbs and make it an actual lifestyle instead of a "diet". Stay far far away from the "d-word" because you're only setting yourself up for failure. Diets are short term, we need LONG TERM results, which is where a new way of living comes in. :) good luck!

Taco night! Made with ground chicken spiced with cumin and chili powder and mixed with salsa' date=' wrapped in a romaine lettuce leaf instead of a tortilla, avocado, tomatoes, onions, low fat cheese and a tablespoon of plain Greek yogurt.[/quote']

This is an awesome idea! Cant wait to try it :)

Oh it's SO good! Technically' date=' it's cauliflower and cheese, but I make it like how I love my Mac and cheese!

1 c. Low fat sharp cheddar

1/2 c. Skim milk

1 tsp mustard powder (or mustard)

Salt and pepper

2 steamer bags of cauliflower (I'm a busy gal so I use frozen. Lol)

Cook your cauliflower then chop the heck out of it (you don't want it "mashed", still leave some small chunks). Combine first 4 ingredients in sauce pan and cook on medium, constantly sitting until cheese sauce consistency is reached. Mix cauliflower with the sauce and spread in baking pan. Top with more cheese or crushed Special K Protein Cereal and bake for 20 min at 350! :) enjoy![/quote']

Sounds amazing! I'll have to try this! :-)

Terry' date=' they have a specific portion of the Menu called SkinnyLicious. It's all lean foods and they state the calorie count under each meal.

They even have Splenda cheesecake. I about fell flat on my face with happiness.

Today at work we ordered out for lunch. I got shrimp cocktail from the appetizer menu and a side of squash, all for $6. I could only eat half so I'm finishing it off for dinner. :-)

I agree with Wannabeawifey. You need carbs in your diet. I was told to stay around 80gr. But to make sure they were complex like whole wheat, fruits etc. Not all the white stuff.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
