I have an appointment with my Dr. on Thursday, and the woman who made the appointment said she could possibly do a fill that same day. I am having such a hard time today. I am supposed to go back to work next Tuesday, and as of today there is no way!!! My stamina and the way my tummy feels is miserable. I do remember the nutritionist saying something about needing B-12, does anyone know anything about it? Maybe that is my trouble just a B-12 defiency?

Thanks for letting me babble!!!

Ok.. this has been a crazy day so I haven't had much browsing time.. but quickly...

WOOOOOOOOOHOOOO JUDY!!!!!

Jennifur: You WILL find a job!

Jane: I know we need vitimins.. but only my RNY friends have mentioned the b-12 shots..... but look at how much you've lost... maybe YOU are due for one!

Everyone... Have a great great great evening.... if I get a chance I will pop in from home.

I did have 1/2 a small Wendy's chili today for lunch and got hungry about 2:30p.m. so I had about 3/4 cup of cottage cheese and a piece of cheddar cheese (the kind that come already cut up like string cheese).........

I'm HOPING for the 230's by Sunday!

Laura try those jeans tonight.......... please :( ... see if they go up past your thighs! (I have a sneeking suspicion that you'll be suprised at how close you are to buttoning them)

OK.. gotta scoot to get ds from daycare!

I looked real quick about b-12 deficiencies and only find that people who have had gastric BYPASS surgery have that risk and that is because food bypasses their stomach which is where B-12 is absorbed. The body stores B-12 so that a deficiency is pretty rare, unless you are a strict vegetarian. B-12 sources are meats and dairy products. Deficiency results in anemia, causing fatigue, weakness and sometime stomach upset. So, I suppose it's possible....but I'd talk to your doctor more or get a blood test before supplementing.

Michelle that is a decent loss. Better down than UP!

Tracy you look great. I love that little photo meter you have running.

Lauraj congrats on getting off the 311-314 and hitting a milestone. That always feels so good.

Jane I drink Propel Water and it is Vitamin enriched. Has Calcium, Niacin, B6,and B12. strawberry Kiwi is my favorite flavor.

The Gerber Graduates are working fine for me. Baby food for toddlers. One of the toddler meals is filling. I find myself hungry at times and today seems to be a day when I am really hungry. I think it goes back to Protein working best for me. I had Gerber Graduate Cereal bars (about the size of a Twix) with 70 calories. They did not stick to my ribs at all. I won't buy those again has throughout the day I ate five. That would be 350 calories and hardly any protein. No wonder I am hungry.

Hi all~~

I'm on jury duty this week... went in today & after reading a book I brought all morning, I got to go eat lunch outside, then got to go up to a courtroom to go through the jury selection process for a civil trial that they expected to last 2 weeks (!)... but then partway through the judge asking us all her questions ("Have you heard anything about this matter before today?" "Do you know any of the parties involved?" etc.), she called all the attorneys up to the bench, got agitated w/them, and then told all of us that there was a problem and for us to all go back down to the jury room, where we were dismissed for the day. Odd. So basically I made $20 to read... ok. I don't have to go in tomorrow, but I have to call tomorrow to see if I need to go back on Weds. Our legal system at work!

Tomorrow is appointment day w/my surgeon! Which means only 3 more weeks 'til surgery. Since Friday I have been reminded why I have to get the band. For about 10 days I was the perfect dieter... and I lost 8 lbs to show for it!... but then Friday and each day since I've "blown it" in some way... I haven't had any major pig out fests, which is good, but I ate a sandwich one day, a cookie another, etc... so now I am worried about tomorrow, but hey, it is what it is... but the good thing about this is that I know that I was really giving the dieting my all but eventually the hunger won out (as it always does) and then it's a slippery slope back to unaware eating. I *need* this band to keep me feeling full longer and to enable to me eat less and more quality food and remove the ability to overindulge... physically remove the possibility... that's what I need. I've been feeling a bit scared about the surgical reality of the band... did you read the post about the gal who died from the surgery after her stomach was accidently sliced? I've been questioning it... but now I know it's this or just be fat forever, and that's really not what I want. I caught a glimpse of myself unawares today in a big window at the courthouse when I was walking back in after lunch... yowza... now how I see myself at ALL... what a slap in the reality!

Sorry for going on & on... just the thoughts bouncing around in my head like a pinball machine... thanks for listening.

Michelle---I travel from my home in NM to Canon City CO for my fills, and we hang out, and shop, we have went done it in am immediate round trip as well. I have only had 2 fills, but have went with my SIL for several fills, and one unfill---and it has never sidelined us from anything except eating food the remainder of at least that day. Watch what you do as far as you might not want to lie on your tummy, it may get a bit sore from the needle poke, but you should be fine.

Jennifur----((((((big giant HUG)))))) sorry about the job. Actually around here the day shifts are what they are having a hard time filling. Students do a lot of the evening and weekend shifts, but days are hard to fill.

I use a sublingual B complex. It is a liquid, you fill the dropper, squeeze it under your tongue, and let it sit for several seconds, then swallow what hasn't absorbed. Doesn't taste like something I would really choose to drink---but it isn't gag worthy either!!! Be warned, any addition of B Vitamins to your diet will change the color of your urine to BRIGHT yellow! I know this sounds kinda gross, but I always judge whether or not I am drinking enough, by the color of my urine. The surgeon told me it should be clear, or pale yellow at the most---if it is darker, I need to drink more. Imagine my shock when suddenly I was borderline yellow/orange!!!! It does seem to keep me energized some---I miss it if I quit using it.

My DH was on jury duty last month, he was scheduled to go 7 times in the month, and all but one was called off before he even left home, and they cancelled the other when he got there.

We have an appointment in ABQ, with a cardiac electrophysiologist, on the 16th. It was the first available, and she (the Dr.) wants him to go to our local PCP, and she is fedexing him a holter monitor, for Rick to wear for 48 hours prior to the appointment. Hopefully this will get us some answers and results sooner.

OK, I am off to light the BBQ---going to grill dinner, since it has finally quit raining!!!

where are you..... too far to drive i'm sure LOL

so I applied for an office manager job today, who knows if i'll get it but here is the funny part... after all the office stuff, it said hair stylist / barber experience... so I forget because it is not on my resume that I have my certification in cosmetology so you better believe i applied. and $20 an hour... sounds too good to be true, i would actually be qualified

so i'm up to 7 mins on the treadmill. That thing is going to kill me. I can do 45mins on my power walk but I want to get the indoor thing built up

Hello Violets, I have been having problems with my port incision. They thought it was infected then they thought it was a reaction to the tape or something. It is just not healing...4 weeks out. I went today and he cut off the old incision and restitched. He said if it heals as it should I should be able to get the stitches out and get my fill as scheduled next Thursday.

Hey Jenn! That's what I drink too! I drink the berry flavor, 20 oz of water and a big ol' slice of fresh lemon! Try it! It tastes like fresh lemonade!
And that's exactly what you'll get! You sound so much like me ....well, probably almost ALL of us....and this band is great for just that: keeping you feeling fuller, longer. You are on the right track. You have confidence in your surgeon, right? Then, no worries!!

Teach - congrats on the loss!! Just keep on keepin' on!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
