Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Recommended Posts

Ok so now that I had time to read and catch up, other than the muscle pain i had when I first woke up, I don't have any regrets, they gave me lots of anti=nausea meds which worked wonders I definately needed it a couple of times but it took the edge right off. I was very dehydrated so got an extra bad of something and within 3 hours I was running to the bathroom. I did not go all day long, was out of surgery at 10:15am. Got up this am and felt great, did some scope thingy where they checked my insides to watch liquid go down to make sure all was working, that was way cool!, had to have 32 ozs, which was Water, broth, Jello and even italian ice, (would have never thought of that) home on the couch with a heating pad hanging with the kids.

overall, it was a great experience other than the above post where I was telling about the muscle pain i didn't expect.

so happy it is over ! Feel great and back to normal tomorrow

HUGS and good luck to the rest of you getting banded, no regrets at all here

Can't wait to update my weight loss!!!

I peeked at the scale.. I was 323 pre-op (on Sunday) and I am now 317. Woot!!!

----

Just to add to my experience, I've been doing a lot of gurgling in my stomach and everytime I drink I feel/hear 'squish squish squish'. He ended up using 9.75 band and said it will probably be tight before I even get a fill. Also, my throat is pretty sore I guess from the breathing tube?

Hi all, hope everyone is doing good. Glad to have you back Laura, missed you!

Question, does anyone know if they sell powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury at like Walmart or at the drugstore? I can't get out all the way to the GNC but I really need it because I'm starting to feel hunger pangs and I'm barely four days out...

Well, I went back to work today...wow, 8th graders w/ only 8 weeks left of school...NEED I SAY MORE. They were rough on me, but after a vacation and a sub the week before, I guess it could've been worse. EVERYONE said I looked great...which felt soo good to hear. I had a 12 and a half hour day today, am exhausted, but actually...with the weight loss so far, I still feel better than ever. I can't figure out the ticker thingy and am tired of trying so every so often, I will post here.

DO NOT READ IF YOUR STARVING ON YOUR PREOP DIET...SORRY

I have a question for my band sisters that were banded around my time (or before that too). What are you eating on the puree stage. Today I had (all of the following were measured)

1/4 c. chix salad (blended)

1/2 c. cott cheese

1/2 c. egg salad

1/2 c. mashed pot.

I also had a Protein shake for Breakfast, Protein coffee, and protein tea.

What do you all think. Is this too much? All of the above were eaten every 2-3 hours, and the 1/2 cups were eaten in 2 different sittings. I honestly want to know what your eating. I am gonna have 2 artichoke hearts now!

Today I had:

breakfast:11 oz protein shake(it takes me like 3 hrs. to drink it)

lunch:3 oz cream of corn Soup w/1 tbs. chilli

dinner: 1/2cup oatmeal and a pice of soft cheese

I only eat 3 meals a day as per doc. No Snacks and a lot of Water.

I'm doing exercise (walking 30 min.):clap2:

I went back to work yesterday and now I'm feeling like I'm getting sick:sick with sore throat. I think I'm calling the doc. tomorrow.

How is it going? How are you doing after your two long days?:phanvan

not that brave, I think I have decided to do a 1/2 day, just so i'm not rushed in the am, but.... still only on tylnol and proud of that. I am so full of air it is not even funny, i look pregnant. lots of walking

I have a before pic - not my favorite and trying to shrink it, will try to have it posted tomorrow for all to see - give me something to work for.

i have gained 3lbs since surgery, but think it is air and Water, had to have 3 bags of iv Fluid to hydrate me

but still feel fantastic and loving every minute

Has anyone else experienced dizziness and a closing in feeling when you get up? I have been feeling this way for a couple of days now. Not consistant, just a few times a day. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
