I'm 4 months out and some days I'm hungry others I can barely eat, we all need to remember we didn't gain 20 lbs in a week, so we won't lose 20 lbs in a week

Everybody's pouch we stretch over time, so we all need to pick healthy choices, I'm gaining and losing the same 2 lbs, I just started going back to the gym everyday and upped my Protein

LET'S all relax we will make and beat our goals it will just take time

God bless and good luck

Oh Gosh I get all down' date=' depressed & vow to thrown scale into my neighbor's backyard but then I log in here and see that I not the only one who feels like this!! I want to see changes in me, the scale and my clothes-- I feel like I should be losing it like Water and instead I feel like the people who know I've had it done are looking at me thinking ~ she had gastric and she still looks the same, it must not have worked for her ~ I don't want to FAiL!!![/quote']

One way to fail is to expect to fail. Treating yourself like a failure will ultimatly lead you to bad decisions and realizing your fears. That being said. Everyone loses in the first year no matter what you do. Think thin!

You are right and that's one thing I'm working on daily, to be positive and HAPPY with my blessings. 8 months ago I didn't even think I was going to be able to get the surgery and now I've had it so, I should count my blessings and work

hard with what I've been given.

I love love this site- its like having a reality check everyday!! Thank you!!!

I actually started a little note book and write down the amount of weight I lose each week. I can see the pattern now. Go a week or two drop very little then bam 3-4 pounds drop off. I use MFP pal but you don't see the week by week as easily on there.

I really don't know what my weekly weight loss is. I know its been like 1-2 pounds a week except the week I went back into hospital and placed back on Clear Liquids that week I lost 10. But haven't lost any since January 2 or 3rd

Consider shifting your focus. Forget about the scales and forget about measuring your success by the number on the scales. Instead focus that energy on following the protocol as closely to the letter as you can and continuing to get ALL of your Protein in every day. Every day that you do that is a success. Every, single, day.

Trust the process and trust your body to find its own way in its own time. Forget about some arbitrary weekly weight loss number. Absolute nonsense and a sure formula for frustration. The fact that your weight loss may be different from mine, or anyone else's, means absolutely nothing. There is no one size fits all. Doesn't exist. We're all individuals, all unique, and all different. There are countless variables.

There is no question that RNY works. There is no question that you have lost weight. There is no question that you will continue to lose weight. Relax. Deep breaths. Focus on doing your part. Congratulate yourself every day for being one step closer. Take the time to enjoy every delicious moment of the journey. The weight will take care of itself. Tough times never last, tough people - do.

You're gonna love the new you!!

So I've been feeling the same as many of you...wishing the scale would move a little faster but a long as its not going the other way I'm trying to remain positive....7wks out and seeing 26 lb loss...I'm trying not to compare to the ones who are down 40 in a few short Weeks....i have noticed tho that the days I work hard at getting more calories and even an extra 10 min of exc does make the scale move...yesterday was one of those days and I felt I was eating (grazing) all day but this morning I'm down 2lbs from yesterday...and no I don't weigh everyday but was checking if what I was doing was working...its good to shake up your metabolism....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
