My surgery date was 12/17. Since then my house has been filled w bbq, take out, and crazy home cooked meals. I swear they are doing it to test me! Anyone in this situation?

Unfortunately, we will be tested like this everyday, and every time we open the fridge, the pantry, or go out to eat. The surgeons can fix the stomach, but they cannot fix the brain, and all the triggers that make us crave the foods that got us into the situations that caused us to have gastric bypass surgery. You need to be strong, things will get better, you will learn to find healthier choices to the foods that you crave. Eventually you we be able to introduce some of the things that you like, back into your diet in moderation. It is also great motivation to keep on tract when your weight starts to drop weight like you're melting away. I have now lost 112 lbs in 5 1/2 months and it feels great! Good luck!

I'm the cook here. I also do the grocery shopping. I don't deprave my kids from chips or soda but its not an everyday thing. I have the healthy choice which is Quaker cheddar (I know more expensive then regular chips) but it works for me. If I need a crunch I grab my Quaker cheddar. I have crystal light lemon flavor (replaces soda) lots of Water. Nuts a lot of yummy things. I don't crave junk food it's rare. I have my sugar free Hershey chocolate which I have only on PMS or Russell Sugar Free Chocolate. It doesn't bother me having chips & soda or cooking fried chicken for my family. I decided during my 30 day diet that I will be strong & I won't fail after surgery & I haven't gain weight. I been faithful to my food. Fruits & veggies are my best friend now. Be strong fight it! You want to be a success. We are all here for you.

It does get better. My head hunger has started to subside. I also found if I really want it one bite seems to quell the craving.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
