My surgery date was 12/17. Since then my house has been filled w bbq, take out, and crazy home cooked meals. I swear they are doing it to test me! Anyone in this situation?

Well unfortunately i have to do the cooking every so often i do tell them to go ff cuz some smells bother me (i feel nauseous) beside that it does not bother me (except today my brother bought in n out hamburgers and Omgosh that killed me! Lol

Unfortunately, we will be tested like this everyday, and every time we open the fridge, the pantry, or go out to eat. The surgeons can fix the stomach, but they cannot fix the brain, and all the triggers that make us crave the foods that got us into the situations that caused us to have gastric bypass surgery. You need to be strong, things will get better, you will learn to find healthier choices to the foods that you crave. Eventually you we be able to introduce some of the things that you like, back into your diet in moderation. It is also great motivation to keep on tract when your weight starts to drop weight like you're melting away. I have now lost 112 lbs in 5 1/2 months and it feels great! Good luck!

I'm the cook here. I also do the grocery shopping. I don't deprave my kids from chips or soda but its not an everyday thing. I have the healthy choice which is Quaker cheddar (I know more expensive then regular chips) but it works for me. If I need a crunch I grab my Quaker cheddar. I have crystal light lemon flavor (replaces soda) lots of water. Nuts a lot of yummy things. I don't crave junk food it's rare. I have my sugar free Hershey chocolate which I have only on PMS or Russell sugar free chocolate. It doesn't bother me having chips & soda or cooking fried chicken for my family. I decided during my 30 day diet that I will be strong & I won't fail after surgery & I haven't gain weight. I been faithful to my food. Fruits & veggies are my best friend now. Be strong fight it! You want to be a success. We are all here for you.

It does get better. My head hunger has started to subside. I also found if I really want it one bite seems to quell the craving.
