6 weeks post op and cardio is my life

Recommended Posts

I'm going to the gym 3-5 times a week walking for 60 minutes on the treadmill, but I'm getting bored with that. Any suggestions on what has worked for you guys and gals?

I like the elliptical machine (cross trainer). It also helps to bring along music to listen to in a portable MP3 player. Then move from machine to machine. That breaks up the routine.

I agree break up the cardio 10- 15 minutes each, elliptical, treadmill, bike, cross trainer, stair stepper.

Try some weight lifting to mix it up. This Friday I will be 1 month post op. I have been taking it easy by doing dance games on the Wii. I will start back up going to the gym on Friday. Walking the treadmill is like torture for me. If you roller skate go on Family nights. That works up a Sweat too

I change it up between treadmill eliptical and weights. It's so weird how 3 months ago I couldn't get my fat ass out of bed. Now I'm up and at the gym every morning at 5am.

Try doing a class. Really fun for both guys and girls. Kickboxing is great! I also do the treadmill on a really high incline and with hand weights ... I love it! More challenging and you really work up a sweat!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
